ACG_Invictus Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Full disclosure: I don't own a VR headset as yet, but am considering getting one in the next few months (want to evaluate the new Pimax offerings before pulling the trigger). Is it possible to use an injector like ReShade with a VR set? If so, can anyone comment on their experience thus far? I currently use ReShade to help with the contact visibility issues in BoX, which admittedly are compounded by my using Nvidia triple-screen on a set of older Viewsonic monitors. ReShade helps a great deal, and want to know if it's an option if I move to VR Land. :D
dburne Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I don't think so, at least as far as I know. Now as soon as I say that someone will probably come along that found someone that got it to work lol.
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 You will be forced to remove every last bit of reshade entirely, a guy had bits left and it hindered him starting BoX in VR. Suggest to redownload the client. If you want a shader, you can use this one: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/30556-3dmigoto-mod-vr/ It improves contrast, but will come at a rather severe fps drop though. The game is pretty limited in the options it gives to the users. I'd love to have seperate control over texture resolution, contrast, 3d object rendering range (trees, buildings), and the effects details.
[CPT]CptJackSparrow Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Invictus also be aware that your streaming will be effected if you go VR. I stopped streaming when I went VR. We get double vision on desktop now, not very food for garnering a audience.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Does display mirror in SteamVR help you at all for streaming? Set it to one eye (the one you use for aiming) only and use that to broadcast or is the FPS hit too great?
[CPT]CptJackSparrow Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 For me the fps hit was just to much. When I streamed prior to vr, always made sure that the viewer got the best eye candy as possible. Invictus may have better luck than I did. He has a good stream. A very interactive guy.
