New to the game and flightsims in general. Looking for keybind tips for T.16000M FCS Hotas + Pedals

Hey all,

 

So, I went and bought myself http://www.thrustmaster.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/media_large/product/t16000mfcshotas_smart.jpg and http://www.thrustmaster.com/sites/all/modules/imagemanager/files/TFRP/TFRP-Rudder_1.jpg but I don't really know how to proceed from here. I'm very new to this whole thing, it's a lot to take in, and I don't really know what things are important to map out. So I was just wondering if you guys had any tips on keybinds for these things?

well most of the players here(including me) have totally personally customized keybindings. All of us started by ourselves, tested, and using everything by practicing.
BTW i use t16000m too, its a very nice stick

Your profile looks good, but for non "headtracker" user "waste" buttons in T.16000M few buttons grip.

 

Bombs and rockets has little use  - just few seconds in each flight - and could be set in the same buttons for MG and Cannon under a modifier, that acts like a safety cap for this buttons avoiding "accidents" with ordnance.

 

So this 2 buttons could be used for example for "zoom" In/Out, center TrackIR, etc...

Yes, I know... I'm getting a head tracker system and will have to make changes.

Thanks for the tips. Can't seem to get controls working though so I don't really know what to do.

After starting the game... click on Settings. Then KeyMapping. Then Controls.

 

From there you choose what joystick/throttle button or axis is used for what.
