KARAYA1 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Hi! I need some help to fix a problem, last night I was starting up the game and it crashed after 30 min of playing and now I can't start it again. Error code: 0xc0000020 directed to Il2-2 Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\bin\game\console.dll I have reinstalled the game 2 times and as soon as I press Play the error comes up. Anyone seen this and can help me? Best regards, Stefan
Monkie85 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'm getting the same error, it started with the viewer and now it's seeming to grow to the main program folder. Did you ever get a reply or any help with your situation?
KARAYA1 Posted September 26, 2017 Author Posted September 26, 2017 (edited) Hi, I'm sorry to hear that. Yes I got some support from the IL2-Support team but nothing that helped me. But! I think I have found a way! When I tried to uninstall the game i noticed that there was some files that can´t be deleted? I did everything by the book but still those files was stuck, and every time I installed the game again I got the same problem, and these 3 messengers came and that those files was "damaged" and the error code 0xc0000020: E:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\bin\game\ CameraMan.dll common.dll console.dll So what I did was to install the game in a entire new folder and it worked!!! But only for 30 min... This did piss me off! But my next solution still works! I kept the "damaged" game installed in the: E:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-Sturmovik Battle of Moscow and installed an 2nd game in a remote place and I did not try to start it! I left it there but copied the CameraMan.dll, common.dll and console.dll files in to a easy to find folder and then in to the: E:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-Sturmovik Battle of Moscow\bin\game and replaced the files, now I can fly! If I now get the same error I just copy those files in to the damaged game folder again. Best regards, S Edited September 26, 2017 by KARAYA1
Monkie85 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'm very sorry to hear you haven't received a solution as well. Please see my related thread "Viewer won't open" in this forum. This started with errors when I was using the viewer.exe file to reskin and it started affecting the main program shortly after. I received a reply from official support to reinstall the game which as you see isn't a long term solution. Instead of reinstalling I simply deleted the contents of the "update" folder and also removed the .dlls giving me the error that showed 0 kb. I then launched the game through the launcher program and it analyzed the program and replaced the missing files. I then made backup copies of all the .dll's and replaced them as they randomly become courrupted which is basically what you are doing as well. Are you running any real time virus software? I disabled mine just to see if it has something to do with the problem. I'm attaching a few screens of the error message(s) in case someone else has an idea what might be going on.
KARAYA1 Posted September 26, 2017 Author Posted September 26, 2017 Hi, ok! I have been trying the antivirus to but still the same result. My game now works and hopefully I don't have to see the problem again, if so I hope to solve it in the same way. Yes it's the same error screens I have, + the Cameraman.dllDo you get your game to run now?
Monkie85 Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Yes I made a backup copy of the games "bin" folder, it seems to have all of the .dlls which are corruptible. I simply replace the files as needed like you recommended and yes I can get the programs to run fine, thank you. I also set my .exe files to run as administrator, not sure if that will help. As a side note, I did have a windows 10 update not long before this started to happen, not sure it has anything to do with it but who knows. I had disabled the Windows 10 update but of course Microsoft figured out a way to force the update, very frustrating. At least we have a fix that will keep us flying for now!
KARAYA1 Posted September 26, 2017 Author Posted September 26, 2017 Haha, yes me to and my antivirus expired the day before and they use to hide shit inside there programs to make you buy more, I don't know. Happy flying!
Roper Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Well this is a first for me. I have never had a problem from the very first release of the Sim up until now. I now get the IL2.exe - Bad Image. What I am wondering is it because of the Windows 10, V1709 that I installed a few days ago. That update caused a lot of slug problems which have now been fixed. However, I have had a problem with McAfee as well that has now recently quarantined some start up game files that it never did before. It does not appeared to have quarantined the above so I am thinking the windows 10 update may have caused the problem. I will try your fix.

Danziger Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 I've been having this same problem I mentioned in another thread. My fix is just to keep a copy of the bin folder on the desktop. When I get the error I delete the bin folder inside the game and copy/paste the spare from the desktop into the game folder. Something is erasing the content of certain dll files but I don't know what.
Roper Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 Since my pervious post I have uninstalled McAfee as it was Quarantining some .dll game files and startup files so installed Norton. I ran sfc /scannow which showed no problems. However, as i had a previous problem with Windows 10, V1709 I also ran Update Troubleshooter and finally DISM. This ended problems with other Sims. However, not IL2 BOX so I did a complete reinstall. I have run the sim continually from my previous post and now have no problems.
Wedgewood Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 I was getting similar errors and traced it back to the latest nvidia graphics drivers. On my system I've found that version 388.13 works the best for this and other games I've been playing.
