Sky_Wolf Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 On two missions now (not multiplayer) I have noticed in the air and on the ground that there is no sound coming from nearby aircraft. For example, I'm playing the stock BoM campaign - my flight lead just took off and there was no sound (I didn't hear the engine rev and I didn't hear it attentuate as it raced down the runway). Anyone else experiencing this? Devs, have you heard of this issue before?
SAS_Storebror Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Sorry for digging out this old thread. I've observed the same thing. Randomly, nearby planes have no engine sound. You can't hear them passing by your plane, and when you switch to externals and watch them, they're all silent (you can hear all kind of environmental sounds then, but no engine). Happens randomly, and if you just keep watching, then all of a sudden after some time (a minute, sometimes more), the sound suddenly goes back to normal again. Cheers! Mike
Lemon Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 i remember to have read someone here said adjust the ingame volume to 100% fix the problem for him, worth a try
SAS_Storebror Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 No option for someone who's using Teamspeak in parallel, sorry no deal. Cheers! Mike
No601_Prangster Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Start both Teams peak and BoX. Set BoX volume to 100% in game and then tab out of the game and lower the volume in the Windows sound mixer. You can get to this by right clicking on the speaker icon in your taskbar.
SAS_Storebror Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 That's not the issue. The issue is that IL-2 Great Battles is way too noisy compared to Teamspeak. By all means, 100% on IL-2 renders TeamSpeak pretty useless and therefore this "workaround" isn't one. Cheers! Mike
KoN_ Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 The sound issue has been around for a long time , no hit sounds and random engine sounds . As for team speak I wish they would sort out the engine loudness so we can hear flak and hit sounds and others talking .
Wolferl_1791 Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 As No601_Prangster told you, you can assign different volume for different running applications. I use it to listen to Olga Voronets on Youtube which, as amazing as she was, still can't be heard over the sound of a running WW2 engine.
