JG1_Daze Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Is there or is anyone working on an English voice pack for IL2 bos\bom\bok?
Jade_Monkey Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Mods cannot be enabled yet, but they will be in the future. Are you referring to making more diverse radio chatter?
Guest deleted@30725 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) Still no option to turn it off... Edited September 10, 2017 by deleted@30725
Sokol1 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) Put a "-" in "radio" folder inside "\data\Audio", then game engine don't use the sounds there. -radio. Edited September 10, 2017 by Sokol1
Guest deleted@30725 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Put a "-" in "radio" folder inside "\data\Audio", then game engine don't use the sounds there. -radio. Does that work now? I was told that you still have the static sound left behind?
blitze Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 English sound pack when Battle of Midway arrives. For Eastern Front, rediculous but, would be nice to have chat text aside from radio and hud for MP purposes. Spose I will have to goto teamspeak. Inbuilt teamspeak would be nice whereby when logging into a mp server you have access to voice comms through the server as opposed using separate app. 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 You can try to replace the audio files with their English equivalent from 1946, taking the time to convert them to the right format and all that.
Sokol1 Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 What complicate is that BoS speech engine combine (like in CloD) phrases and individual words in "radio messages", iL-2:46 use only phrases for different pilots/crew. 1
Feathered_IV Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 What complicate is that BoS speech engine combine (like in CloD) phrases and individual words in "radio messages", iL-2:46 use only phrases for different pilots/crew. That is correct. Swapping in longer of different samples from 1946 doesn't work because the generic static sample that is hard coded into the game glitches out and starts to screech for up to ten seconds. Added to that, there are something like just two phrases that the AI say, It's Close/It's Far Away. So getting any kind of natural or varied voice chatter is impossible with the current setup. Although CloD has similarly poor design and much worse voice acting, it at least does not have a separate layer of static and does have a greater variety of phrases. This makes it possible for the user to modify if they wish. I have been working on a voice mod for CloD and have put more than 400 hours into it so far. I can't do anything with the one in this game though.
