Fairly realistic values for Mission Building

At the risk of being way out of whack on some of these :o: , I quickly researched values for gun ranges/cheatsheet for sizes/anything else I could think of to help me, and hopefully someone else, in creating missions... I hate having to click on a vehicle just to see what it is, then know nothing about it. So, here is my take on making this easier for all of us.

The gun information is from Wikipedia for the most part, while the aircraft speeds for cruise were me jumping in to a quick mission, setting what I thought were cruise settings, diving or climbing, then hitting autopilot to get a set elevation at around 2km, and letting things stabilize. Bombers are with no bombs, so knock off 25kph or so for loaded planes, and gun ranges are probably maximum, so maybe 1/2 of the distance is what they really would fire at, especially direct fire. MC202, Ju52 and Yak7 are total WAGs, based on what I could find (I don't have these planes).

Please feel free to comment/critique/correct if something doesn't look right... after all, it is to help everyone with sort of realistic speeds for waypoints and ranges.

Salutations,

Here is basically what I have been referring to in my mission building.

I obtained the basic file from somewhere on these forums and then added some information I later gleaned from a wiki page.

Ground equipment ranges.

Of course, nothing can really be set in stone with this information.

Welp max AI speed for Stuka is 270kph, that's regardless of loadout... it's a shame. My campaign has long flight times and I'm sure some won't like it for that reason.

You forgot rockets, off the top of my head:

Wurfrahmen 40 "Nebelwerfer" = 2000m

BM-13 "Katyusha" = 8500m

This game has such large maps, we need some rail guns and "bullet cam" :)

edit: derp. I didn't click on Thad's image post.

No worries, updated the original. Will keep revising when necessary. Too bad on the Stuka - I fly it ALOT and regularly get way over that with the right trim.

Anyway, this is meant to give people half a shot at fairly realistic values instead of hunting around for them or making them up, if desired. Thanks for the input. Sort of close to Thad's :)

Of course the PLAYER can cruise much faster than 270kph. It's the AI that is coded to not go over 270kph...

I am creating a Flames of War-like tournament mission for our squadron, so I have been studying, and looking up the ranges for the guns.

Just my 2 cents the maximum effective range of the MG 34 is 4700m, and the DSHK is 2000m.  The Pak 35 max range is as you listed, but "Effective range" is no greater than 400-600m, and even at those short ranges, they still bounce off anything but a BT-7
