guys sorry to say :o:  but at first i loose Sound of my right side of my headphones and when i pressed the right front of my rift i got it back.

but now both sides of the headphones are not working any more.... i think some kind of Hardware Problem. had anybody same experience i think it is because of the wires inside the headband.

now i am using seperate Headphones and only the mic of the rift.

i dont have warranty because i bought the rift used....but i have invoice from the first user...

any ideas?

thx

Ask oculus support, tell them upfront that it is a second hand product but was fine when you received it. Ask them if they can help you and what you can do.

If they don't help you, you must go the way of giving the Rift back to the guy you bought it from, then he can send it in. If he refuses, you either sue, call him at home / meet him in person, or write it off.

First time I also bought a used Rift - never do that with such expensive articles. It was damaged upon arrival already, and oculus refused support completely. I had to make a few calls in order to get the seller to take it back and receive all my money back. It was a hassle and took 3 weeks, unpleasant!

Also, be careful if buying from electronic stores - I went through 3 packages in Saturn electronics market in Germany to find one that had not been opened and used yet. These guys sell used hardware as new.

Best Buy from oculus directly only.

Relevant piece of EU law: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/consumers/shopping/guarantees-returns/index_en.htm

The case of loss of audio is a common defect for the Rift, which I would say points at a design flaw. I am not a lawyer, but I would argue that means the fault was probably in the device when it was first bought. It should be possible to point at the lack of reinforcements on the cable's connection.

  • After 6 months, in most EU countries, you need to prove that the defect already existed on receipt of the goods - for example, by showing that it is due to the poor quality of the materials used.

The trader always has to provide a solution. In some EU countries you also have the right to request a remedy from the producer.

Note at the bottom of the page:

Second–hand goods that you buy from a trader are also covered by the minimum 2-year guarantee. However, goods bought from private individuals or at public auctions are not covered.

So if you bought it directly from a private person, you are out of luck.

That being said, it might be easy to fix yourself if you have a soldiering iron.

Hi coconut

Private so no luck.

Soldering ok but I think not so easy to open the headband?

That's terrible advice, unless he is already very experienced at soldering, he'd void any help, return, or anything he can get by that!

Go ask the person that you bought from politely, he may help you out returning it for RMA.
