The Congress of Neurological Surgeons is setting a Guiness World Record for the largest gathering of people using VR displays recorded in history.

The meeting is in Boston, Massachusetts on October 9th and will involve the presentation of a surgical case recorded in VR with the audience snapping complimentary VR viewers onto their mobile devices with a required app pre-downloaded.

There are usually 3000+ neurosurgeons across the world at this meeting, so this should be a huge boost for VR utilization, which will hopefully spur further development of the technology.  I think this is further proof that VR is here to stay and will only gain utility and popularity.

VR has completely transformed my IL-2 experience such that it is one of the only recreational programs I use on my computer at home.  I am just happy that it is now finding uses in my professional life as well.  The future of VR looks bright indeed. I am proud that I am already on board with it.

From the flight sim perspective, the immersion is unparalleled and I will never be able to go back to a 2D monitor again.

I am also proud to be a member of this flight sim community.

And this sim in VR is just spectacular.

Also bear in mind that this sim was, and is not a purpose built VR sim, it is adapted to vr. So if this sim is impressive now, imagine what a purpose built vr flight sim will be like in the (near) future!(get on the case, devs)

I am glad to hear that. IL-2 is my only game as well for the few time I have available. It is an unparalleled revolution for flight sim.

Regarding the professional uses, yes, it will apply to countless areas. I remember when more than two years ago I was demoing an Oculus DK2 application for training in a large conference in Boston as well. People was making queue beyond my presentation track time to test the demo. It was a blast for all of them.
