Language files, am I missing something ?

Hi,

 

So yesterday I hosted a little training mission for my squad, but I had a problem with the briefing not showing up.

Everyone except me was having the "no name" in place of the briefing.

 

Some of our pilots use English version of the game (including me) and some use the french one.

So after finishing the briefing in the editor, I wen't in the mission files, opened the .ENG briefing with the notepad and copy/paste the whole content into the .FRA file.

I've checked today, both files are identical, and the line containing the briefing doesn't have any "enter" in it, only <br> .My SDS file is pointing to the correct folder too.

 

The strange thing is that none were able to get the briefing, neither on the french or english version of the game, only me had it displayed correctly.

Have I missed something ?

EDIT : OK I've found part of the explanation :

The .LIST file was not pointing into the right folder so it was not loading the correct language files.

 

Now one question stays, why was I able to get the briefing correctly ?

So, now that you have corrected the .list file, do your squad mates see the briefing OK? 

 

Not sure why you saw the correct briefing; maybe you had the language files in the original, incorrect folder as well as the correct one.

Didn't had the time to re-host the mission. I will see for the training next week.

 

I've checked the other folder and indeed the two brienfing files were also there so that should explain why I was able to see the brief.

I was persuaded that these were empty but it looks like I was wrong.

 

Hopefully next time everything will go fine. I'll tell you.
