Hey all,

Rookie question here:

So I am looking at starting a PWCG career in BoS, and a little curious on something. I have been mainly flying the Yak-1 Series 169, and would prefer to fly it for the most part in PWCG.

Is there an easy way to do this from within PWCG?

I was playing around with setting up a campaign in it , and chose a start date in Jan of 1943. I saw in the notes one can change planes from the mission screen, so I selected the mission from within the campaign, and clicked on the plane type - but it only gives me the I-16 as a choice, no other planes to choose.

So how would one go about setting up a campaign and fly the Yak-1 in it for the entire campaign?

Are you sure, you are starting in 1943, I didn't find any I-16 squads at that time. To your question, you click on 'Mission', then 'Briefing Map' and in 'Pilot Selection' you will see the pilots, that fly the mission (you can change them, if you want) and you see the aircrafts. When you click on your aircraft, a window opens, where you can select, which aircraft you want to fly.

But you could, of course, simply select a squad, when starting a career, that is equipped only with one aircraft, which should be by far the most.

When you create a campaign you choose the squadron.  Every change in squadron choice is accompanied by text at the bottom of the page noting the squadron, airfield, and planes in the squadron.  In Jan 1943 there are lots of Yak-1 Ser.69 squadrons (including the first 4 on the list in Jan 1943).  It is the most common plane in the Russian inventory.

Got it now, this time made sure I was joining a Yak squadron.

Thanks again!

Ok just flew my first PWG mission - it was great! I managed to get one HE-111 kill myself - unfortunately lost my leader on this one.

So when I was done I went to combat report and submitted. I claimed my 1 victory and all seemed to go well. One thing I was not sure about, in the readme.txt for PWCG it shows under section 11 for submitting a combat report  - after claiming the victories:

" Select the mission logs associated with the mission ( they will be time stamped when you flew the mission), then pressing submit".

I never saw anywhere or anyway to select the mission logs per the above. However I submitted the report and it accepted it giving me my one victory.

As a SP guy, having already flown some other campaigns, I am really going to enjoy PWCG for BoS!

Thanks so much for this great tool!

Old documentation.  Sorry about that.  PWCG matches the log set to the mission by itself now, so you don't have to select the log set anymore.

I figured it may be something like that, thanks for letting me know. Really enjoying the program!
