TBD79_OD_ Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Hi all, I've been flying in IL2 for some time now without issue using the Rift, it's run pretty smoothly and impressively. However since the latest update - BoK - I am having massive problems with the OR ASW kicking in, or at least that is what I think it is after I had a similar issue in DCS. In DCS I can turn off the ASW with LCTL+NumPad1 in BoX this does not seem to work. I have tried to go into the OR Registry file to turn it off, as recommended elsewhere, and this has not worked either. The issue that I am getting is when I look through the prop disc at the sky, add an aircraft to the mix and it just gets worse, (there is no issue when I look at the ground). The reflector sight looks like it is melting and flickering. I see a number of enemy aircraft jumping around all over the place - despite there being only one actual aircraft. Again, this does not happen when I am looking at the sky. I have adjusted all of the settings in the game and adjusted settings in Steam VR, as well as with the Rift Registry - to no effect. So I am a bit stuck as for what to do next. When I am not looking through the gunsight the sim runs smoothly and looks great. Is there any advice or anyone else out there that has had the same issue? Thanks, OD. Further note - it is particularly bad in the Spitfire Mk V and the P-40
dburne Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 From your description it sounds like the graphic anomaly when ASW is kicking in. You might give using the Oculus Tray Tool a try and set a profile for BoS to turn ASW off. https://forums.oculus.com/community/discussion/47247/oculus-traytool-supersampling-profiles-hmd-disconnect-fixes-hopefully/p1 I use it and have a profile set for BoS, to turn ASW off and it works quite well. I also use it to set my SS for the profile, and also as the audio switcher to switch audio from my speakers to the Rift when Oculus Home starts. Note also Oculus Home needs to be running for the OTT to work properly. I was playing around with just using Steam VR and not having Oculus Home running for a benchmark earlier, and found that cntrl+numpad 1 to disable ASW would work, then it would turn back on again and I would have to keep pressing the key combo every so often to disable again. No problem like that for me when using the Oculus Tray Tool to disable ASW.
TBD79_OD_ Posted September 2, 2017 Author Posted September 2, 2017 Thanks, I'll give that a try. It's worst on the Kuban map. It happens slightly on the Moscow map, but nowhere near as extreme. I'll report back once I've tried it all out!
TBD79_OD_ Posted September 2, 2017 Author Posted September 2, 2017 That's fixed it :D Thank you very much. I'm yet to see a time when ASW didn't mess up one of my flight sims!
