=gRiJ=Roman- Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) As it was stated before the AI will be modified in future patches. I was wondering if it is feasible to have a more interactive AI wingman so that it can perform maneuvers both offensive and defensive such as scissors, barrel roll, Thach Weave, tactical turnings, yo-yo, sandwich, defensive split, etc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_fighter_maneuvers It would make flying offline a much more challenging and exciting game. What do you guys think? You could give specific orders to your wingman and fly coordinated to dogfight as a team. Edited September 1, 2017 by -=PHX=-Spartan-
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Good idea Within the scope of WW2 combat though we need to remember that most pairs flew simpler patterns together, especially over the Soviet Union. Aces often took newbies under their wing to keep them alive for long enough to gain experience, and once the wingmen reached a good level they became leaders to other new arrivals. The old Il-2 did an amazing job simulating that - engage fighters, engage bombers, engage ground targets (with specifics), or engage at will. These were great for target-rich environments. The main command though, and the most realistic one, was "1. Cover Me". Your wingman (or second flight) would climb 200-500m above you and perform attacks in succession if you dived on a target, or dive in to shoot enemies off your tail. If the BoX AI interacted better with the existing commands, and learned a few more to allow for better tactical employment of them, SP would get richer. 4
