Stratman59 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 So far all I can do is pirouette when trying to take off, it's so sensitive. I thought I might need to feather prop right shift =/- . Trouble is I can't map those to any joystick control for some reason, any ideas why?
indiaciki Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 You need map prop pitch up and down on your keyboard. Btw you need full RPM on TO as soon as your up reduce. Work the rudder on to & landings.
BOO Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 i have an axis assigned to prop RPM control - is this not right?
Stratman59 Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 But why can't I map those to my joystick, I can do this with every other control? I play with VR so don't use KB commands.
indiaciki Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) Don't know. I can't either. Axis is great ☺ Edited September 1, 2017 by indiaciki
Stratman59 Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 I've tried assigning to buttons, to wheels, to sliders, to hat switches but none work? indiaciki, which axis did you use?
indiaciki Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 I don't use an amiš though i'd like to. Use Lctrl+LSh+1 & 2.
Finkeren Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 That sounds strange. I know this may sound like a stupid question, but are you sure you're playing on a difficulty setting that allows you to control RPM manually?
Stratman59 Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 Hi Finkeren, yes I checked, I have all 'simplifications' and piloting assistance un checked.
Matt Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 You have to bind the action called "Propeller RPM control". There's also a "Propellers:high/low pitch" command, but that's meant for planes that allow changing propeller pitch itself (like most German planes).
Stratman59 Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 That's got it Matt, I was trying to map High/Low pitch. "Propeller RPM control" works just fine. Thanks everyone for your help.
