[FF]frostysauce Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 More of an open question - it seems impossible to fire more than one rocket per second, is this aligned to reality during the time?
Jade_Monkey Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 You can fire more than one by selecting rocket firing mode (left Win + R). You can do single, pair, or all if i recall correctly. 1
19//Moach Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 there's no "all" for rockets, only for bombs, AFAIK the third option is a salvo of four... I often miss a single button to jettison everything, especially when someone jumps up on my 6 and makes my plane into a number of smaller, less airworthy aircraft

-SF-Disarray Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 was there an option to auto deploy rockets with a delay on any planes back then? If so I could see that being very useful. Shooting rockets in bunches of 4 is nice, but shooting them all that the same point is kind of dumb, I think. It would be more useful if they could be deployed like bombs dropped in a group with a .25 second delay, or some of the other options available for bombs. That way you could spread the rockets along a line of tanks or whatever you are shooting at quickly and make your way out.

Actually, in real life rockets were generally all fired at once in an iL-2 at least. Accuracy by volume.
Royal_Flight Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 I wouldn't mind throwing all my rockets at the same point if I had a whole squadron behind me who I knew were doing the same, but in-game (or at least in MP) where ground attacks seem to be done mostly by pairs or individuals, or at best small groups, you can't saturate the area alone. You could yse the rudder to walk the nose quickly along a line of targets while salvaging them, maybe. More of a mad skid which probably wouldn't do much for the accuracy though. I would also get some use out of a 'jettison all ordinance' panic button for the times when I end up flying a sieve headfirst into the terrain courtesy of the opposition. Although at least the days of getting bounced by a flock of 109s squalling down like seagulls is over... but it would still be beneficial to get out of the way so they get a clear run at the ground when they discover that their elevators don't work so well at 800kph.
