Night0wl Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 While it's a fun aircraft to fly with lots of killing capacity, it's terrible fragile and vulnerable. If you have bad luck, the first salvo of either ground fire or AC armament will blow you up. Happened to me several times. Havent tried it mp yet i was doing qm and custom settings.. first thought i had invulnerability on took a couple of hits from several ships nothing happened untill finally one snapped through the side window and managed to hit me plane was fine but pilot was bleeding

One of the biggest problems is that there is almost no rear view capability with the Hs 129, so the chance that you get attacked from behind "out of the blue" is pretty high... the Henschel is definitely not appropriate for a MP-mission without having any air cover by fighters
Geleitzug Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 use the mirror Yep - but also the mirror gives you only a small portion of the full rear view required to have a chance to detect enemy planes early enough... that's why I said "almost no rear view capability"
Finkeren Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I actually think the rear view capability is much better than I anticipated. In general the view is much better than the IL-2 and the rear view is really no worse than the LaGG-2/La-5, I think.
ZachariasX Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I just wish they had installed the guns at a downward angle, such as the GAU-8/A cannon in the A-10. I often tend to pankake the crate in shallow attacks. At least it gives me opportunity for closer inspection of the damage I intended to to on the tank.
ZachariasX Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Man, I need some more practise... in the Swiss army we were issued these to open steel thingys: So, with the Henschel it is an unusual procedure for me. 2
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 I tend to use it like a 87, high angle dive so I don't get too close to the tank(I don't want to crash next to him) Shoot or drop and bank hard, climb and do it again. The Duck is fun to fly, slow, lazy and just won't get out of it's own way. I love it.
