I understand that it's different now, but why is it a problem?

so long as it does not need to render anything more than your single screen at 600x800 or whatever you had it set at yeah why does it matter?

It would be nice to convert the split view as it appears on the monitor to a single full screen view. I know it wasn't possible pre 2.012. I wondered (in another thread) if it was possible to do that now since 2.012 as obviously they have fiddled with this aspect.

I quite often use OBS to record VR game play for YT. The good thing about OBS is it can capture the banter between myself and my wingmen, and gives a better sense of my view. OBS basically records the monitor render of the game.

I think screen capture of one eye, makes for easier viewing.

here is an example of how it used to render on monitor :-

now it renders both eyes

I like that it's rendering both eyes. Makes it easier to record stereo side-by-side videos. Before that you would have to go through the debug mirroring tool. If you want to show only one eye, you can configure your OBS scene to do just that.

Yes, Obviously the client is capable of doing either as we have seen in recent builds. It might be a simple matter of toggling a value in a config file, but I would not know where to begin to look, but if it is not to much hassle for the dev's perhaps an option in the graphics settings might be possible ?

Should anyone be able to point me in the right direction if it is just a simple matter of a config file edit, I would be grateful

I have been capturing whatever video and audio falls on my desktop with Shadowplay, or GeForce Experience as it is now called. I also record the track in IL2. I then have to go into IL2 and record the track there in 2D with Shadowplay. I take the two recordings to an editor, marry them up, delete the video track of the VR desktop, delete the audio from the 2D IL2 playback. I am left with a full screen view with banter.

But you are wanting to avoid all editing and just capture the one eye view and banter, I understand.

I wish the game could project the full screen onto the monitor from the get go as I too would like to skip that previous rigmarole I explained. Do you know why that isn't possible, or rather if it is still not possible since 2.012?
