kendo Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Jason said that the AI still has some issues with the mountains but that they will work on it to fix in weeks ahead. Expect that is the reason. Will be improved later.
Guest deleted@50488 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 (edited) Well... answering my own original question - it's GOOD! Enjoying the update, now that I found what was messing around creating strange behaviour - the axis curves I had set in the previous version.... All pretty much linear now! Enjoying the update, now that I found what was messing around creating strange behaviour - the axis curves I had set in the previous version.... All alomost linear now! Yeah, when the improved FM came, it soon became clear to me that the curves have to go. No need for them anymore, at least in same degree as earlier.
Pharoah Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Fired up the map and chose a JU88 last night. Thank goodness...they've fixed it. I always knew something was wrong with the handling when you couldn't correct the swing on t/o with opposite rudder at low speeds. Took off without any problems. Handling does seem a little slower but thats more what I expected from such a large aircraft.
CIA_Yankee_ Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Yak-1b: Low speed maneuverability remains amazing and the plane can now pull angles close to what the Spit Mk. V can do. Stick forces at higher speeds are now very heavy and the plane is fairly unresponsive above 500kph. Roll rate is now at best mediocre. I have a question, concerning the 1b: did you notice any pitch instability under the new model? Last night I did some flying around in the Spit and the Yak-1B, and the 1B struck me as being significantly less stable than it used to be (and the spitfire, of course). As in, when attempting minor corrections along the pitch axis, the A/C would sometimes "bounce" up or down unexpectedly. Is this something you or anyone else experience under the new FM? It certainly feels totally unfamiliar to me.

I seem to struggle a little more keeping my guns on my enemy aircraft target than what I was doing, mainly with the pitch of the plane. Perhaps I just need to change my pitch curve some.
