Guest deleted@30725 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I guess the spitfire is in early access? I saw people posting pictures and fought the AI a bit, but nothing on the store page. I guess it's released when bok is right and available to owners of pre-order bok now? Stoked to fly it in this gen of il2. Making do with clod version for now!
7./SchG2_v*Athlon Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Now, click https://il2sturmovik.com/store/battle-of-kuban/
HagarTheHorrible Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I expect you'll be able to buy it, as a stand alone, after the full BoK release which I think is slated for sometime in November.

ShamrockOneFive Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Or you can get BoK and fly it now! :D If that's not an option... I'm guessing they will follow the familiar pattern and offer it up for sale sometime after release. January-February time period perhaps? 1
Dutchvdm Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 If you want to fly the Spit in MP and have some patience then i think you can wait until the beginning of next year. If you want to fly it in SP then you might just want to buy BOK right now for the careermode that is coming in a couple of months. Grt M
Dutchvdm Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Spit is already used on certain servers in MP. That's true but my point was that as soon as Kuban is released you can still buy the spit standalone and fly it in MP. You don't have to own BOK. Grt M 1
Finkeren Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 (edited) Yeah, the Spit pretty much loses half its value, if you don't buy BoK. You have to be solely focused on MP for it not to matter. Edited August 25, 2017 by Finkeren

I'm wondering what they will do with the careermode and the collector planes. Will flying the careermode in the spit on the Kuban map be possible without owning BOK. Or will the careermode be locked based on owned planes... Grt M

Grt M I'm pretty sure, that the careers will be tied to the titles you own, nothing else makes sense. My guess is, that if you own BoM and BoS but not BoK, you'll be able to fly the BoM and BoS careers but not the BoK one, regardless which planes you own. You obviously won't be able to fly, say, the Hs 129 in the BoS career either, if you don't own it.. Edited August 25, 2017 by Finkeren

That sounds logical, but one can argue that it's weird that collectorplanes can't be used in the campaign without owning the base expansions. Grt M
Jade_Monkey Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 That sounds logical, but one can argue that it's weird that collectorplanes can't be used in the campaign without owning the base expansions. Grt M You could argue that they just bought a collectors plane, but not the "game" itself (referring to all the SP in this case).
SYN_Mike77 Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 If you just buy the collector plane you wont have the map. While the map will be available to you in mp it wont be available to you in sp and thus, no career mode for games you don't buy.

LLv24_SukkaVR Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I suggest buying the BoK premium, its only $69,99. And 1 collector plane costs around $20, So $69,99 for 10 planes is pretty damn cheap IMO. 3
Finkeren Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 $69,99 for 10 planes and the most ambitious map yet and a career for that map. 5
Guest deleted@30725 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 $69,99 for 10 planes and the most ambitious map yet and a career for that map. I've gone back to playing with the bom and bos planes for now, between the two I feel like I pretty much have enough planes to play with and I'm far from being bored of them, but when the cold and dreary uk winter sets in I'll probably add them to the collection.

ShamrockOneFive Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 My item sold on ebay so I guess I purchased it.... ...I need a therapist to stop me spending money this game. If you play IL-2 as much as I do... the dollar value to time spent playing ratio ends up being pennies for the hour. Some of the best value you can get out of a video game title

Some of the best value you can get out of a video game title I agree. I'm spending $70 soon just to hire a van for one day and will probably only be used for 8 hours. I was going to buy bok at some point anyway. Now I have it I don't have to worry about the release date or buying it again! It's certainly better value than when I was into dcs and I'd think nothing of spending $50 on one plane just to be able to press all the buttons.
III/JG52_Otto_-I- Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 and why the Spitfire can't buy stanalone and La-5, Bf-109 G6 it is possible? Devs hate the british Spit fans or what??
ShamrockOneFive Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 and why the Spitfire can't buy stanalone and La-5, Bf-109 G6 it is possible? Devs hate the british Spit fans or what?? As with all Collector Planes that are part of a 'Battle of [insert battle name here]' series release you can't buy them as separate products until after the release of the product. As Battle of Kuban is still in early access until mid part of the winter of 2018 you can't buy the Spitfire. Or you know... you could go with the hyperbole and say that the "devs hate Spitfire fans...."
