DougW Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 FYI: I had to replace my system drive this past week end, therefore I installed Windows 10 on a brand new drive. I keep all of my games on a separate drive including IL-2 BOS and that is where the following good news comes in. After formatting the new drive and installing Windows 10 with its updates plus drivers for my motherboard and components, I started BOS without having to reinstall it. It is very much like Il-2 1946 where the registry entries do not have any affect on the game. The only thing that did occur was the requirement to download and install Netframe 2.5 but it did so while I still flew, it did not have any obvious affect. Anyway - when you need to replace your system drive and you BOS on a different drive, you do not need to re-install it.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Yes it's true game folder can be moved anywhere and game would work fine. New system just need to install soft from 3dparty folder located in the game directory. Doing that since 2013 and never had issues. Same with Rise of flight.
Tone71 Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) Yes, worth knowing. Recently moved all my flight sims to a separate SSD and only needed to copy/paste, not re-download and reinstall. Edited August 24, 2017 by Tone71
