Battle of Pearl Harbor and Battle of Japan, please :D

Maybe this was already a thing, back around the turn of the millennium. I know the IL-2 franchise has been around for quite some time...and if so, I would love to see a Battle of Pearl Harbor and Battle of Japan, even if it's just a remastering of existing work. Cliffs of Dover, too. Would be great to have in BoS representation, as that game still has some bugs, even after the TF mods. The big thing here, though...PF51 Mustangs, P38 Lightnings, P40s(currently exists, I'm aware) and F4u Corsairs(thank you Pappy Boyington)! One of my favorites(next to the Spit and Stangs) growing up.

Pearl Harbour was a few hours of mostly one-sided combat, with the same planes used at Midway, so I doubt it will get it's own expansion. Rather, I'm hoping we get a Pearl Harbour map in BoMw.

 

The Battle of Japan isn't coming any time soon, as the current engine doesn't have the capability for aircraft with crews as large as the B-29's - between RoF and IL-2, the aicraft with the most crew are things like the Felixstowe and Heinkel. BoJ could bring some controversy as well, with the mass civilian deaths caused by the raids against Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki, to name the most famous ones. I think most people would prefer something like New Guinea.

After it was decided (and announced) that BOX won't go to the mediteranian, because CloD will move there, it is very unlikely, that now CloD will move to the pacific, as it is the next step, BOX will do.

I know something like B17 and B24 would take ages and tons of work to complete. I think if they did dive into them they should be released as a premium collector plane above all the others. Almost like an expansion in itself similar to the Ilya Muromets. I think a heavy bomber modeled to BoX standard with mannable positions could easily and happily sell for $40USD hard currency or more for the plane on its own.

Also OP, I'm not sure if you know but CloD and BoX are totally different incompatible entities. CloD is CloD abandoned by 1C and now carried on by TFS. The new IL*2 BoX series is a joint project between 1C and 777 studios based on the RoF engine. This section of the forum is for CloD and its upcoming expansion. Since TFS are now officially endorsed as the keepers of CloD, their official forum is here. However, you will probably still find the largest amount of useful information related to CloD at the ATAG forums.

For me Pearl Harbour has the most senseless map of 1946, I never see a convincente "Pearl Harbour" mission in this map, always "what if" with "alien" planes, in some "Skies of something" even with Ar 234.

Yes I think we should petition President Trump for government support of a B17 module for BoX. Maybe an F that turns into a G when modifications are selected.

I think it would be a bit stupid, especially with IL-2 Battle of Midway coming "soon" and even more pacific maps later, having 2 the same theatres would not be fun, these 2 games could do seperate things so if you want fly pacific or russia you can go play IL-2 BoX if Britain or soon African then cliffs of dover. 

 

Also i think it will be way better if TF will focus on germany and commonwealth, and thanks to this maybe in the future we would get entire west front, from 1940 and battle of england to africa and through italy in 1943 and maybe even late war in normandy. I would love to see creta and maybe even go back to 1939 and have a bit of poland.

Agreed. If there is an existing engine that will be able to model the late-war Western Front in an appreciable way (I'd say 64bit Cliffs is a hell of a contender), it will be up to TF to build the content for that engine.

I agree, if or when TF patch 5.0 come, I think a production of late war planes is not so far fetched. I think when and if all the bugs and fixes are done and repaired they can focus on development. 

I think what they are doing now is the foundation of  how it going to be. If they eventually arrive to the spot where they can focus on new models and maps only there will not be any limit on what they can achieve

Battle of the Philippine Sea............... June 19, 20, 1944, big running Sea and Air engagements, lots of Islands for Japanese air and sea bases to attack.............. could use Betty from there.  Different scenarios could be done with this map for multiplayer, single campaigns.............. it's endless................... instead of the long flights from bases to Okinawa, or just air starts......... Battle of Midway is kind of a singular scenario, one Island to use, two opposing carrier forces.............  I don't know if multiplayer server will have moving carriers using Hayrake homing to find them once you have taken off to go search for the Japanese fleet.  or if it will be the rediculous stationary carriers like we had in Pacific Fighters servers in the old days...............
