New communication options

Hi,

 

Coming from 1946 and playing for a couple of months at BOS and BOM, I have some issues with the communication system. There is a lack of options.

 

For example, there is no way to call for help, say to allies to return to base, request takeoff/landing (manually), request heading to return to base, etc.

 

There was a lot of useful options in IL2 1946, now it's almost all automated and most of the time our allies are just flying by themselves without forming up. There is option to allow different kind of formation, but nothing to request formation flight.

 

When I'm flying, my allies are forming up very slowly or are attacking enemies without me saying them to attack, so they just fly away from me and I'm now alone... Same when landing, my friends are just going away if there is some enemies near the base instead of trying to land.

 

 

Would you like to see new communication options?

For Singleplayer, let's wait and see if the new campaign comes with anything new related to comms. 

 

Be careful that your AI flight only forms up with you after THEY reach the ingress point. Basically, after take off, just fly on runway heading until you hear the "Good hunting" message from tower. Now your flight will follow your formation orders. Otherwise, if you turn towards your objective too soon, they will usually catch up with you after a while, if you're not going at max speed. And you can tell them to go home as well. Landing requests are automatic, they usually happen when you are gear down, at a specific distance from the runway. The tower will tell you to buzz off if another plane is in front of you.
