SCG_motoadve Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 All max out on ultra. GTX 1080 120 fps Track IR its a bit jerky, does not moves smoothly. V sync is ON in Nvidia Full screen mode V sync OFF in game. Any tips of how to make Track IR move smoothly.
KaC_Richard_Rogers Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 I suspect the TrackIR issue(s) is from back light interference and/or another track is being detected.. To test for the back light you will need to have the TrackIr software open and in the top right hand side there is a box called Camera. If you have your TrackIR reflector on you will see 3 green dots in a triangular formation that are close together. If you see any red marks in this area then you are getting back light interference. The thing to note is that the back light interference can be very intermittent so I recommend sitting there for several minutes before dismissing back light interference. I have an Under Armor gym top that has a logo on the left upper chest area and wouldn't you know it, on occasion it would cause my TrackIR to track irregularly. Hope this helps.
Feathered_IV Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Is the film on the front of the camera thingy clean? Mine was a little fogged after several years and giving it a wipe down with a damp cloth smoothed things out considerably.
Feathered_IV Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Also, are you making sure to have trackir running minimised to the System Tray, not simply minimised in the taskbar?
SCG_motoadve Posted August 13, 2017 Author Posted August 13, 2017 Track IR is minimized in the system tray
Soarfeat Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Try v-sync " fast " in nvidia control panel and have it set "on" in game menu. This works best so far for my set-up and everything works smoothly. Good luck with this, I'm sure just a few little tweaks and it will be fine. Cheers --sf--

=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Do you have a force feedback joystick. There is a big thread about issues with TIR and FFB.
purK Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 In Camera Options set the smoothness bar to 100 on the top right = problem solved.

216th_Jordan Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 I keep the smoothness on 0 though as I tend to get motion sick from the response delay.

Yeah I hate the delay too, but I hate the "skipping" at 0 even more when I'm trying to track a target close up in a fight. I lowered the smoothness setting in the actual TrackIR program and it seems to help with 100 in game. 1

I do not know why I only found this again 4 years later, but I do want to sincerely thank you - it is a much better experience. 1
Hoss Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) I just bought a 32" LG UltraGear monitor with 144hz refresh. I only have a GTX1060 vga and I don't use Vsync in NVCP or in game. I have the "Monitor Technology" set to G-sync compatible and on the "Set Up G-sync" I have it enabled "Windowed and Full Screen mode" I'm getting 105 to 120fps and it's as smooth as glass for me, but I have a very customized TIR profile. I have shared it many times, I also have the Speed set to "1" and Smooth set to "50". In game I turn off all the FOV inertia settings and only set the speed for FOV, and Instant FOV. Smoothness is set to "100" If you would like to see the NVCP, in game camera settings and a video let me know. I'll post it up here, of couse it's all moot without the TIR profile.
