Uriah Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Can't get the rpm up past 26/27 in a 109. The prop pitch seems stuck on auto. So is this normal? I would think I could get the rpms up past 32 and could control the prop pitch if I liked.
FuriousMeow Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 The list of Bf 109 F-4 features that are not available in this version: - time for climbing at maximum power is not limited - manual prop pitch unabled - manual radiator control unabled - some of nuisance failures turned off as well as instruments - trimmers are off - any damage to the rear wheel causes drop in max speed of forward flight (to approx 430km/h)
HagarTheHorrible Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 "Can't get it up in the 109 !" That's because she's still an Alpha and not fully formed yet. I suggest you try something a little more mature or if you're still having these problems with a flaccid control interface might I suggest either the doctor or some little blue pills (evidently).

But I do not know if the indicator is working correctly it goes from -2 to -1 to -0 to -1 to 2, there seem to be -1 that should be 1.

Yes , try talking to Pele he`s an ambassador for that sort of problem.
Uriah Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 So just how high can we get the rpm in this weeks release?

Yes, stabilator trim works, but it hasn't been properly adjusted yet. The trim wheel should allow as many spins as the flaps wheel so that the two wheels can be operated simultaneously, to compensate for nose heaviness when extending the flaps.
-MG-Cacti4-6 Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 cant get it up in a bf109...they make a little blue pill for that sorry, i couldn't help it! 1
dkoor Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 - manual prop pitch unabled Good. I can think of only one reasonable thing you could achieve for engaging this manually - higher MG17 rof (rate of fire). Even that is... rather unnecessary, cant get it up in a bf109...they make a little blue pill for that sorry, i couldn't help it! The most funny thing I heard all day .
TheCheese Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 So just how high can we get the rpm in this weeks release? The engine's typical maximum operation usage is 2700 rpm, which is what you get on full throttle currently. You probably won't be able to get it much higher than this even with manual control, considering the engine will only be able to last one minute at 2700 when engine damage is added, except maybe at high altitude.
Uriah Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 Thanks TheCheese. Just needed to know that.

Manual prop pitch is good to have when trying to get optimal performance out of the engine and airframe (such as in climbs) - in combat the workload shifts so that auto prop pitch is the way to go.

I have been manually controlling mine, sounds like I might want to assign the auto toggle as well.

II./JG27_Rich Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 (edited) Something I noticed is how you can really scoot along once you get the F4 trim out. It's more realistic than IL-2 1946 in my opinion Edited December 15, 2013 by II./JG27_Rich
dburne Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 ??? Manual pitch control isn't available in the 109 yet. Or did I miss something? Sorry guess I should pay better attention, I was thinking of the Lagg which is what I have been flying.
