scram77 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Hi all, I've recently bought the Steam version of BOS and am enjoying it immensely. So much so that I am looking to buy more planes for it. I know that I can buy some of the DLC through Steam however I am uncertain as to whether I am able to purchase for instance Battle of Kuban through the IL-2 store and for it to work with my Steam version? I have tried to find the answer but so far am still uncertain what is to be the case? Cheers
THERION Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 (edited) Hi, why, for god sake do you buy all of this via Steam? You better buy everything directly from 1CGS which is way better for them as each cent will be accounted to them - they need every single cent you can afford. If you want all your games managed under steam, you still can bind BOS/BOM/BOK in Steam - but buy the products directly on their homepage - it's easy, you can use PayPal and you have all your licence keys at one glance there. scram77 Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 Thanks Therion, I wasn't aware at the time of purchase that it could be bought directly, otherwise I would have as I'm not a huge fan of Steam. So by purchasing the other DLC directly from the studios, I am able to link it to my Steam account? Is that correct? Thanks in advance
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 As long as your using the same log on as your IL2 Sturmovik web store, yes.
Wolferl_1791 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 When you download IL-2 from Steam, you basically get the entire game, with all DLCs. What planes and maps you can fly however, is decided by what you have unlocked on your IL2 account, not Steam. In your case, you can only see BoS content. Buying additional content on Steam just gives you some codes to enter on the IL-2 site. I for one have bought BoS on Steam, but then BoM on the IL-2 website. It cheaper for me (dollars instead of euros), and it was on a discount (whereas on Steam, the discount had already ended). I'm about to buy the Kuban DLC as well, from the Il-2 web store. It's OK if you bought BoS from Steam, as you can easily download it from there, but for the rest of the DLCs, just buy them from the Web store. No more messing around with the activation keys either, they should activate the new content instantly once you pay.
=69.GIAP=Shvak Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Okay steam has suddenly told me planes I bought on this site are invalid, I am assuming it is a bug as when I check here they are all valid. And when I play the game they are all there. Just annoying to be told by steam I am a thief. I gave up trying to figure out how to get steam support to fix it...
