BubiHUN Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 (edited) The "effect" can be seen on this video, at 0:30 . I belive this would be a very special element in dogfights. Is it possible make this happen? Edited July 28, 2017 by -HRAF-BubiHUN
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 yes it does seem to happen to some degree that gear releases and falls part way under gravity..(had a 190 fly over me on final and his gear was only 1/3 way out and flapping up and down like spring loaded)Tho i dont think proper Hydraulics or hydraulic failures are properly or if at all modeled yet.also the pilot have bumped the gear handle while being shot up.or a bullet dmged the gear release mechanism..

The hydraulics were damaged, and the gears automatically released
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 is there a pilot statement?im not arguing just all i saw is the plane being show and gear coming down, But it could have been hydraulic failure(Tho many planes have safety pins that are released if manual extension needed, hydraulics raise the gear then pin holds it in place using the hydrualics to hold it constantly is very bad design and would not last long, just like tilt motor on back of a boat it has a locking pin for while you are towing the boat otherwise engine bouncing will damage the hydraulics.General a gear release lever Releases this pin then starts an electric or hydraulic pump to lower the gear against airflow) )To me it looked more like either he pressed it while trying to bail out.Or the bullets hit gear control level and they were released without pilot input.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 It can happen in game, Soviet aircraft get it often from experience. The most annoying bit is, the limp gear incurs lots of drag but since it's not locked and the hydraulics are gone it usually collapses under pressure, making landing a chore.

This must be a "failure" not a proper wheel "opening" read it many times, this could happened on hit, not by pilot mistake. on this footage from 03:09 it can bee seen as the gears lowered auotmatically(but a little bit slower) on hit.

No it´s not modeled in game. Confirmed by the developers
