Bilbosmeggins Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 (edited) I'm experiencing very ugly clouds that look exceptionally blurred, with a weird "stepped" appearance. I'm running a GTX1080, with a pd of 1.8, and ASW off. Is there any particular setting that might cause this horrible cloud effect? Cockpits and planes look great, as do any smoke trails, and flak etc. The landscape is a bit low-res, washed out and bland compared to what the "flat-screen" boys post on youtube, but I expect that. How is the visual experience for other VR pilots? Edited July 26, 2017 by Bilbosmeggins
MajorDogbite Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I get the same thing. The stepping also occurred in Rise of Flight leading me to think it might be something 777 brought to the sim. I hope they can fix it since it never was fixed in ROF. Tis annoying.
dburne Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) Yep, nature of the beast currently so to speak with the cloud effects. I personally don't consider them ugly, but do know what you are talking about. We get fantastic performance in this sim especially with their VR implementation, obviously there are some things that really help that. I will definitely take the performance we get in VR with this sim over some higher details. Edited July 27, 2017 by dburne

I'll take "being there" over flash resolutions any day of the week. If my VR got taken away for any reason I don't think I would ever load up IL2 again. Or any other flying or racing sim for that matter. There can be no going back Edited July 27, 2017 by Bilbosmeggins
