Mannawar Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I just installed BoM and can't wait to fly, BUT I can't! Problem : The setup image (with the plane in the hanger) is so big, that it cuts out part of the entire image. The setup menus on the right hand side aren't visible, so I can't set the screen resolution. There is no menu, nothing to set up, so I can't get started AT ALL! I have a 28" flat screen set at default - 3840x2160. If I set it any lower, even more of the image is lost. Even when I set the resolution to the screen's highest setting - 4096x2160, that's not enough to change anything. I looked in the game's file folders to see if I could find anything there to help, but I didn't see anything obvious. I am new to this, so what am I missing?? Cheers folks
Voidhunger Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 (edited) You can set up your game resolution in the game launcher. There is il2.exe and launcher.exe in the game directory. Start the launcher Edited July 25, 2017 by Voidhunger
TG-55Panthercules Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 (edited) Suggest you open up the startup.cfg file (in notepad or any text editor) and look for the highlighted lines below: [KEY = graphics] 3dhud = 0 adapter = 0 bloom_enable = 0 desktop_center = 1 detail_rt_res = 4096 fps_counter = 1 fps_limit = 144 full_height = 1080 full_width = 1920 fullscreen = 0 gamma = 1.00000 grass_distance = 300.00000 hdr_enable = 0 land_anisotropy = 1 land_tex_lods = 3 mgpu_compatible = 0 mirrors = 3 multisampling = 2 or_enable = 0 or_ipd = 1.00000 or_lens_offs = 1.00000 post_sharpen = 1 preset = 3 rescale_target = 1.00000 ssao_enable = 0 vsync = 0 win_height = 1080 win_width = 1920 Try setting those entries in the red lines to your monitor's native resolution. Also set the blue line to = 0 as shown above, if it isn't already. Save it back down, then start the game and see if that helps. Good luck! Edited July 25, 2017 by TG-55Panthercules 1
216th_Jordan Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 It is a bug. Try what Panthercules has suggested above. Setting fullscreen might help though. You need a bit of trial and error here. Did you set your screenresolution in the launcher? Because when I did I got the problem as you mention.
Jade_Monkey Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Yes perhaps full screen (Alt+Enter) does the trick.
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Please make sure this section is as follows and 3d hud is not turned on.. [KEY = graphics] 3dhud = 0 I was recently messing with trying to force VR style hud in 2d mode and this happens when game is in VR mode on normal screen you are so zoomed into menu you can only see 1/3 of the screen or so.. 1
Mannawar Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Thanks to you all for taking the time to offer your help. Panthercules, you nailed it!! I appreciate your assistance, and it was simple to do. Into the skies go I!
TG-55Panthercules Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Glad you got it working - there's way too much cool stuff in here to be stuck sitting at the menu screen 1
