HagarTheHorrible Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Got a Rift, +Touch, or indeed a Vive for that matter, then "Lone Echo" really is worth a try. I was really just a bit non-plussed by "ANOTHER" space game but actually it's really very good and a pleasant distraction from all the blood and guts of WW2. It demonstrates and gives a glimpse as to why VR can be so good.
HagarTheHorrible Posted July 24, 2017 Author Posted July 24, 2017 Knock knock, can anyone hear me, or is it just the sound of my own voice coming back at me from the empty void ? Do you get echo's in space, I think not, so a bit of a duff (not to be confused with something you drink, hic, burp, ooooh my poor head) game title really ? I think I'm going mad. Not only am I starting to talk to myself, but I'm even chuckling, to myself, at my own really naff jokes. I really need to go lie down in a darkened room, preferably with soft padded walls.
BeastyBaiter Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 The padded room is nice, been enjoying mine for years. Regardless, that is a game I've considered getting, but my OR hasn't shipped yet and the touch controllers were rescheduled for shipping from this week to about a month from now. Thanks amazon.
HagarTheHorrible Posted July 24, 2017 Author Posted July 24, 2017 A padded room and Oculus Touch controllers isn't actually as crazy as it sounds, it would certainly stop me from beating up my sim cockpit, if I had one. VR is really good fun, not perfect, YET, but certainly worth the present entry price, and lets face it most flight simmers usually have a pretty robust rig to start with, which helps. I would definitely recommend Lone Echo although it might spoil you and make you a little sniffy about other experiences. Others that I would recommend are Robo Recall, Apollo 10, Google Earth and while not a game, or graphically graphical (read quirky) I really like Old Friend, I can sit there and bop away to my hearts content and like nothing better than to fire it up every now and then. Before I forget there's also this flight sim game that's really good, can't think of the name at the moment though, I'm pretty sure it'll come to me, just need something to jog my memory, now what was it .............. As long as I can take my Rift and Touch then it's off to the padded cell for me
