Dead_Reckoning96 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Hi all, I am new to the forum and game, but very excited. I have racing pedals, but not rudder pedals, along with a t16000m and CH pro throttle. I'd like to avoid using the twist axis if possible, so have been trying to set up the racing pedals as my rudder. My intention was to use the accelerator to yaw to the right, and clutch to yaw left, however try as I might I can't get them to work because they're recognized as individual axes instead of one axis. I've even gone so far as to use vjoy and UCR to create a virtual stick in which they're merged into one axis. My only trouble now is that I can't get the game to recognize the v_joy stick over the the pedals when I press the pedals. Is there a way to hide them from the game? Or alternatively is there a .cfg or other game file I can edit so that I can force the game to register the vjoy axis as my rudder? Any help is greatly appreciated, and if anyone wants to show a noobie the ropes let me know! I wish I could just shell out for some MFG Crosswinds but I don't have that kind of $$
Sokol1 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Try edit the file current.actions - rudder there is called "yaw". You need use the number that Windows enumerate VJoy virtual axis, if Joy0, Joy1... etc.
Sokol1 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 (edited) Or maybe this: https://www.reddit.com/r/hotas/comments/6pbd8j/experimentalhiding_sticks_from_games_now_possible/ Look at TARGET, maybe you can set this axis curve there. Or though DXTweak2 calibration, e.g this axis varies from 0 to 1024, then you set the maximum in 512. http://www.derekspearedesigns.com/download/DXTweak2.exe Edited July 25, 2017 by Sokol1
=TBAS=Sshadow14 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 (edited) I use racing pedals for rudders in IL2 /Xplane /Space Games/ and have been doing so for about 10 years (same pedals)they work fine but mine are only 2 pedals and both have the same spring rate and feel to them.No extra software needed other than Logitech gaming tech. I set pedals to report as Combined AxisThen simply in IL2 Main control i map it to rudder and set curve.here is my current mapping action("rpc_pitch_p","State","joy1_axis_y"); action("rpc_roll_p","State","joy1_axis_x"); action("rpc_yaw_n","State","joy0_axis_p"); (JOY 0 is pedals) Only downsides are.Less resolution (short throw) so requires full curve (non linear)Both can be pressed down at same time (this cancels rudder inputs)No Toe/Heel Brakes (unlike with proper rudder pedals.)Once i move house next week im going to pull all buttons and stuff out of wheel base (as i dont use it for racing anymore)ill then build a custom panel with layout of buttons as i want and new labels to sit next to X55 Hotas for extra buttons.
