Hurricane Fighter??

Hi Guys

 

Quick question.

 

You have the Spitfire now. What about the Hurricane? Was it not sent to Russia as part of the lend lease program during WW2?

 

I have seen no mention of it so wondered if you were planning on introducing it.?

There was a vote wether we want the p40 or the hurricane, people voted for the p40 i doubt that they will do the hurricane.

I'm almost sure they will! There has been dozens of posts about it and it would sell like hot lead!

I think if they will do any more collector planes they will do planes from 1943 since we moved there with kuban.
I would like a hurricane as well, but i doubt it would sell well, with so many superior planes out.

Only the crap plane interest me, only winner I fly is the PE 2 , the rest is just crap. LAGG and I 16 , some IL 2´s The Hurricane would be a nice addition o get shot down in. But seriously , North Africa and cannon equipped Hurricanes will probably be my favourite in COD 5,0 together with the Beufighter. I am not sure a 8 x 303 equipped one will rock my boat

Well the Russians did get a bunch of different Hurricane II models... And then they re-armed a bunch of them too.

 

A common rearmament was 2xUB 12.7mm machine guns and 2x20mm ShVAK cannons. Not too shabby.

We'll see a Hurricane eventually if the IL-2 BoX engine remains relevant for another ten years (like IL-2 1946). Maybe an IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Britain...

Seems odd to not have the Hurricane when the Russians had 3000 of them but only 1200 spits.

 

 As for 'Crap' plane, In theBoB  they shot down more aircraft than the spitfire even if you factor in the different numbers flying. As for the argument 'Yes but they were only shooting bombers.',  an ex-hurri pilot was once quoted as replying WTTE 'Who do you think was fighting the 109 escorts while we were attacking the bombers? It was almost always just us hurricanes."

Id say the Hurrican is possibly likely at some stage but waaaaaaay down the list of things to do.

 

I disagree with it being a "crap" plane. It may underperform compared to others but that doesnt mean its useless or of no interest.

 

I fly the ju52, its a crap fighter but i still fly it because I can!

 

Also, id like the Hurri so i can pretend Kuban is Engand and fight BoB style.

Hurricane very tough fighter. Also a real challenge flying the not so good planes against the germans. Because if you score a kill against better machinery then feels good

The Hurricane needs to come, but only when we get a scenario set near Leningrad or Murmansk where they were mainstays in the beginning of the war. Elsewhere the types we have are really representative.

I called the Hs-129 a "crap plane wrapped around a big gun" a while back and someone tried to jump all over me for it.

Well it was my favourite mount in Cliffs Of Dover; several squadrons in CLoD flew nothing but the Hurri and never flew the spitfire.  You just need to know its weaknesses and its strengths then it becomes very effective. On the other hand,  one of its main selling points was that it was so stable and easy to throw around without getting into trouble while the Spit could have some bad habits.  In BoX the spitfire is lot more docile than any other spit I have flown online so the hurricane would not beat it on that. All you would have is its robustness letting you RTB with heavy damage where a spit might have already fallen out of the sky.  When CLoD TF5 comes out I am looking forward to flying the hurri in the desert, especially if it has the 40mm anti-tank version.
