Bombsight and cockpit gauges not in agreement

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I started this in general, and when the error was noticed, it was recommended I start a thread here. It appears that when imperial units are selected, while the cockpit gauges display metric, the bombsight displays imperial. From experimentation, the inputs required for the bomb computer are also metric (Meaning in order to hit, I follow the cockpit gauges NOT bombsight gauges). Below are screenshots demonstrating this in both the He-111 and Pe-2. What has NOT been figured out is why the altimeters shown in the bombsights are also WAY off, but also not in agreement in how far off they are...

Here are screenshots. Tested the He-111 H6 and Pe-2-35. They both had WAY off airspeed indications, but while the He-111 Altimeter was not even trying, the Pe-2 was only off by several hundred meters.

He-111H6 starting altitude 4km

those instruments match as they are based of different input data (air pressure alt versus standard alt and so on)

all that matters is whats written in bombsight dials on left.
otherwise why would they be there with wrong info :D

Not the way to desagree....

Sorry Shadow, but that info is wrong and misleading if you ask me. Thanks for the bug report TXsailor, hopefully devs will see this post and take a look at it.

Have you read what the OP wrote, and looked at the screenshots? Because this is a specific bug that only arises if you have imperial units selected for the HUD, with a metric-instrument aircraft. This isn't about the minor differences between instruments and bombsight that can arise under normal circumstances.

Yep.

By going to all metric units in the settings, the bomb sight instruments agree with the cockpit. Why one would be affected and not the other, is a bug I think.
