InProgress Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I must say it's so hard for me to fly in clod in compare to BoS.. I wish missions would be drawn on map like it is in BoS, I am not saying to add magic gps but having map with fly route and course for example 10° and 44km then 50° and 20km etc. Would make it far more enjoyable. Same with ground targets at least some that are know to our HQ and our forces on map as well, now it's just empty map and it's so hard to know what is where. Yea there is ground control that tells you mission target 320° 30 miles, but I don't know if that works.. tried it and it keeps saying 30miles, I fly and fly and never get close to anything, then get lost, mission failed and well :| It is even hard to say how much 30 miles is, it would be so helpful and for sure could bring less hardcore players to clod if we would get map with markers on it and fly route with xx°, km and time it would take to get there if flying with x speed. And bonus idea, would really appreciate if changing loadout was possible before mission and not in menu, I don't know what mission I will get and it would be great to choose bombs, fuel and guns after reading mission details, just like it is in BoS.
curiousGamblerr Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 If you can find the map tiles used in the game, I will look into adding them to il2missionplanner, which should help some. (I don't play CloD, just got here by accident while reading new posts, but I figure i don't need to play CloD to do this if someone gets me the files) 1

Wheels Yeah probably, there sure were a lot of maps in 46... although in that case I would have automated the process, or tried to. Right now it's only semi-automated.
69thSpiritus Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Have you activated the tools option when your map is active? You can plot your course, so on from there. The sun and a couple landmarks in England and in France is all you need to navigate though, at least that is all I use.

I mean something like this http://i.imgur.com/3wNMFZo.jpg i know you can navigate by coastline, cities etc, but still it would be nice to get all this like in bos, would help a lot, now it's too hardcore. And i guess pilot had all this informations. Also this will be even more useful and needed in africa map. Well i really hope something like this will be implemented into game

Sokol1 Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) map with fly route and course for example 10° and 44km then 50° and 20km etc. This degrees on course is a welcome novelty introduced by BoS map. Will be nice see this in other flight games map, but I guess that add this in CloD will take a bit of code work, what put this at end that big priority list of fixes. CloD in game map can show waypoints, route and icons for planes, objects ("GPS"): https://i.ytimg.com/vi/NblaqPNbqS0/maxresdefault.jpg But like BoS "HUD" is 8 or 80 - or you see all or see nothing, is not possible show only waypoints and route traces like in il-2:46. Help that navigate in CloD map is easy, at North is England, at South is France, with Channel in the middle. VO101 guy did a superb work in map this area and CloD airbases: http://www.pcpilot.hu/dokumentumtar/il-2-sturmovik/cliffs-of-dover/2928-repuloter-terkepek-airbase-maps.html Available here too - tab maps: http://clodtools.weebly.com/ A similar to BoS Mission Planer online tool for CloD map - by Escuadron69: (1) http://aljarasoft.webcindario.com/mapndb/ Other option for similar tools - the "Rule": http://il2map.info/map?type=clod_channel Anyway CloD (in game) map came with "Map Tools" that allow you know distances an angles - but done in "It's CloD!" way (unfinished...) is possible draw only one leg of route per time, and previous drawings don't remain over map. (1) Is possible use the above linked online map tools in game, opening that page with STEAM Browser overlay, like I did there in BoS (did for CloD but images lost in ImagesHack): http://s16.postimg.org/qj6020ywl/Map_overly.jpg http://i59.tinypic.com/16j3nex.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/1537jo7.jpg Or in second monitor: https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=24774&d=1474794387 The used above interactive tools (DR-2, Wind Angle) online: http://clodtools.weebly.com/ In the same way you can open TF Wiki planes specifications in game. BTW - Nothing against your wishes - just point options until this don't come. Edited July 21, 2017 by Sokol1
InProgress Posted August 19, 2017 Author Posted August 19, 2017 You are aware of this map & tools? http://kg40.ru/Maps/html/map/Clod_channel.html Now i am, but it's still something not in game. It looks great and i would love to use it but steam does not work well with CloD and if i keep using steam overlay the game crashes sooner or later so this option is not any good. Point is, something like this should be in game, i know that you can do similar thing on map in game but it's not that advanced and i think you can't make it longer, only 1 line at the time.
