Gambit21 Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I'm getting an error - Missing mfc140u.dll. I feel like I should know how to fix this, but drawing a blank and don't see anything in the FAQ. Oh, was that a C++ error? If so then I can fix with the 3rd party software contained in the game directory yes? Well that didn't work.
Crash_Gordon Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Hi Gambit, I had the same issue on my dedicated server box after the last update. I run the editor and server on this machine but not BOS itself. All I had to do to fix it was run BOS, which finished its install and then everything was good again. As soon as I launched BOS a status box popped up indicating it was installing a MS distribution (maybe C++ or something similar...) and as soon as the lobby screen popped up I quit BOS and the editor loaded like a champ. Good luck! This was on the Steam version. Crash
Gambit21 Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Are you a steam user for this game No Hi Gambit, I had the same issue on my dedicated server box after the last update. Crash Thank you - but it had already been run a number of times before I tried the editor.
unreasonable Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Maybe try reinstalling updated C++ version from here? A few people seem to have had issues solved by reinstalling from the original, not the file in the game folder, and this seems to be the solution that crops up on a search. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
Crash_Gordon Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Whoops, now I remember that I did end up uninstalling/reinstalling bos and it was after that when I ran bos that it installed that pkg! Sorry, minor detail (har)! I think I also pulled out some hair and was facing south during the reinstall. Ymmv
Gambit21 Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 Thanks guys. Support linked me to a C++ update. I'll see how that goes - my connection is slow which makes re-installs painful and a last resort.
Gambit21 Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 The C++ updates (identical looking to the ones in the directory, but NOT the exact same files apparently) did the trick.
