 Farewell Strega

Some of you may remember Strega from IL2.. she passed away. She was a very nice young woman .. always helpful, always cheerful, very easy on the eyes and a pretty good pilot to boot.

I didn't know anything about her, what little I have just learned by following your link tells a really sad story, a loss to the community, RIP.

Really sad.

We knew Antonellea Martini quite well from SAS1946.

Some facts: Antonella Martini aka Strega got banned from SAS1946 for being a fake account. There were already serious doubts about her and about certain other members for having a (female) alter ego. Or a couple of alter egos.

In the case of Antonella Martini it was quite easy to reveal she was non existing. ( I will save you the details of how we found out.)

After her ban the others got banned too or suspended for a longer time. That was in 2012 if I'm correct.

They all disappeared from the SAS radar including two other forum memberss we had serious doubts about.

And guess what? All of them showed up at Mission4Today. Circling around each other again in several topics.

For mentioning some of the above facts yesterday at Mission4Today I got an IP ban + suspended account.

"Because of creating an account only for starting a mud slinging match at the forum."

Well, I did not even use gross words or anything, just stating facts and probably they forgot I have my M4T account for a couple of years already.

Just to let you guys know.

In case a moderator wants to delete my comment for not being appropiate here, well let it be.

But remember that these are the bare facts of what happened. Nothing more nothing less.

Uufflakke, why did you feel the need to create a new account on M4T when you posted this "info"?

This does not seem an unreasonable reaction from the mods over there.

Like I said I did nót create a new account over there. I use this account for years and years for logging in only to download skins.

I hardly used it (or not at all, I can't remember) for participating in forums at M4T.

I am not going to debate the validity of the user named Strega @ M4T.

I do know however that there were two Strega's and one could easily be confused as to which one is being discussed.

Sadly the first "Miss Strega" who was also a moderator at Hyperlobby passed on almost two years ago so both of them have left us at this point. :(

@wheelsup_cavu:

Miss Strega who passed away is nót the same person as Strega (means 'Witch' in Italian by the way)  aka Antonellea Martini from M4T and SAS1946.

Thanks for the PM and I will send you all ins and outs about the whole situation.

Cheers and happy flying to everyone.

I had no idea there were two of them.. Nor did I know the other one had passed away 2 years ago..  The one I am refering to was a pilot who wrote some pretty good stuff about flying Mustangs.. I thought they were one and the same..  I saw the post and was so surprised and saddened .. U how do you know that the Strega from SAS is the same one from M4T?

From thje looks of things either way.. it is a loss.. I just never knew that the "other" Strega passed away in 12.

Does it really matter what gender people claim they have on-line in forums like these? Isn't it the quality of the arguments, not the quality of the poster that matters?

For all you know I could be a girl, and the photo in the "Faces of the forum" thread could be my brother or some random picture form the depth of the internet. Would it matter? Would my opinion on topics like camo, markings, game design etc be any more less valuable if I wanted to hide what gender I really am?

I have no idea if Strega was or was not a girl, nor do I care. Her posts was what they were, regardless of who was sitting behind the keyboard.

It sort of does matter, a bloke claiming to be female is IMO totally dishonest, simply taking advantage of the sausage fest environment that the typical flight sim community is, this is just my opinion and I am not making any claims withy regard to either of the people discussed here as I knew neither of them.

Miss Strega is the pilot who wrote the posts detailing her flight experiences in the P-51.

That is who I thought this was.. but you are saying that the Strega quoted above as also passed away and that two years ago? I had links to her articles on the Mustang in my sign at uBI at one time and I spoke to her via chat on a few occasions. Thanks for the clarifying pM Brian. This kind of reminds me of the clown over at the bananna boards who had multiple accounts and would post pages of arguments with himself. I wonder if the crew being referred to at SAS are the same folks.

Of course it matters. If you will lie about something as basic as your gender then how can anything you say be trusted?
