Redglyph Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 (edited) I noticed a few issues with the Spitfire Mk V in verions 2.011. 1) The engine "30-minute" / "5-minute" power GUI help indicator regularly freezes, apparently on the "30-minute" icon. I have to boost the engine to the 5-minute zone then back to cruise mode for this icon to update and finally disappear. This wasn't observed with other aircraft but in previous versions, I haven't tested in 2.011 with another plane than the Spitfire. 2) The compass seems to remain stuck after moderate turns (60°). I have to fly level for a while before it finally wakes up and adjusts to the current magnetic bearing. Since there is no manual, I have no idea whether it's on purpose or not, but I've never heard of this temporary failure in Spitfires so this seems weird. 3) Here I'm not sure at all for this one, it's more a question than a report. The taxiing seems pretty much easy for a Spitfire, simply using the pedals to turn left and right, without using the brakes and at very low airspeed. AFAIK the brakes and pedals are needed used to steer left & right, which wasn't an easy feat and required some getting used to, but here it's almost as easy as a P-51 (except the tendency to do 360° if one steers too much, which looks much exaggerated, but that's a common behaviour to all aircraft in IL2). unreasonable Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Point 2) is not a bug: it was discussed in Gavrick's DD. In RL the pilot has to cage the gyroscope in order to stop it getting confused, in the game this is done and reversed automatically.
