Confused

So... I feel like I'm missing something. I can't tell where to taxi to, so I can take off... (in the taxi and take off mission) So I went to the server and joined "wings of liberty" I thought if I could see others I could figure out where to taxi to...Well I guess I couldn't, I tried and was immediately ridiculed... :/ so far not much fun...

The server usually spawns you near one end of a runway. Look at the Map, zoom in as far as possible and you can see enough info to figure out the runway orientation usually.

Always look for the fires - they have open fires to mark the end of each runway. Really helps when you're looking where to taxi. Also, check the map - it'll show the angle of the main runway(s) - just see what your current heading is and use that to determine which way to taxi.

yes, as stated press the O thats OOOO key and then mouse wheel zoom in to your airfield and look at the lay out.. Simple. and good luck.

Sometimes I get it wrong and don't always find the quickest route, but pretty much every path leads to the runway.

Sorry to hear about the behaviour on wings of puberty.  I hope you get in the air and have nothing but good experiences soon.

Wings of Toxicity has one of the most nasty, competitive Audiences of Il-2, which is also why it's the biggest and why I don't join it voluntarily either. 

 

My go to Server is Random Expert. Missions are more Ground Pounder oriented and Aircraft are Limited so People actually have an incentive to complete a Mission in such a way that they Land at an Airfield by the End of it to keep the Aircraft. It also doesn't have GPS.

People tend to be more relaxed, there rarely are Personal Insults etc. 

 

Now concering the Taxiing, open the Map Screen and zoom all the way in on the Airfield you are at and you should see the exact Spawn Point. From there you can see which is the shortest way to Taxi to the Runway.

In Wings of Liberty the runway tends to be immediately ahead of whoever spawns, through trees, hangers, other aircraft or whatever. Do not expect to follow folks on WoL to the end of a runway.

 

Try to taxi to runways though - ultimately more fun. As I'm there have said use the map but bear in mind that sometimes you're on the opposite side of the taxi way to where you think so you go the wrong way. Persevere with it though.

It's not easy to distinguish the grass and the road, i think that needs some improvements.

 

Also half of the people in WOL dont even bother taxiing, so dont feel bad.

 

It's tough, but using the map as an indication of where you are relative to the runway is always helpful.
