Salutations mission builders,

I'm building a rather large tank battle with the Germans attacking a desperate Russian defense of  a town. I desire to give the Russian player a fighting chance to achieve a tactical victory versus overwhelming odds.

When 12 German units are lost... I desire a message ordering the Russian player to honorably pull back after having inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy and then end the mission with a Russian success.

Basically, what is the best way to effectively count the 12 losses as they occur during the mission.

No need to give me exact detail... just point me in the right direction. Thanks. :salute:

Try looking at "Trigger an Event When One or More Events Occur One Time Each" on pg. 95 of the editor manual.

JimTM.. I think I got things working as I desired...at least it seemed that way during some mission testing. Felt pretty good.

Cool Thad! Yes, it does feel pretty good when you get your mission ideas working in the game. Enjoy!

Yes, but I must comment that is was a cumbersome and time consuming method to achieve something that should be simple and rather straightforward.

Yes, it can get finicky at times. Did you use the counter method or the multi-input counter method?

Counter method. I had 26 vehicles "on destroyed" evented to a single counter each and all those 26 counters attached to separate counter set at the number of kills I wanted results for. It seemed to work fine but what a pain.

The multi input counter method did not seem to give me the correct results.

I think it was counting kills twice. Linking them singly seem the only way to get things to perform as desired.

If you want to post the multi-input counter mission, I can take a look. Maybe there's a chance to improve the manual.

I no longer have the multi-input version. Sorry and thanks. :salute:

No problem Thad.

I really don't think there is anything wrong with the manual in this regard per se.

I suspect it has something to do with the lead vehicle being targeted to follow in become in command and when the lead ' killed ' the condition is carried over to the next vehicle and then counted as two kills. I'm just guessing though.
