NO_SQDeriku777 Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 (edited) With WOL effectively being the only populated server in my timezone it would be nice to quickly find out whether the server was populated and balanced without having to actually start the game. I was relying on the stats page to do this but it is out of commission and I really don't feel like logging in, connecting to the sever, joining a side, and choosing an airfield and plane to see who is logged in. That doesn't even take into account the hassle of logging into Teamspeak and launching Track-IR. Is there anyway aside from the stats page to get this information? [CPT]Pike*HarryM Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 http://il2.flying-barans.ru/ Doesn't tell who is on what side but easy enough if you are familiar with the usual names.

Good grief, this can't be right. The site only shows 2 people on WOL now at 7:34 PM Eastern time. I can't believe that is accurate. We still need an API that shows players, sides, map name, time remaining. What ever method this site uses does not handled server crashes. There were times in the past when WOL was down all night and there was nothing to indicate that on the site (when it was li2forever). Please Jason, give us something like the old Hperlobby and Crete an API that will let others do so. Edited July 12, 2017 by NO_SQDeriku777
[CPT]Pike*HarryM Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Shows 20 now, I think the map just rotated.I agree it would be nice to have more detail.
CIA_Windhawk Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Doesn't the WoL stats website already tell you who's online? Even which side they are on?

LLv34_Temuri Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 API is there for the player list. Servers that are shown in http://il2.flying-barans.ru/ have rcon running, and are letting the site use the rcon to see the player list. I'd integrate the whole players, mission, etc. information to the current multiplayer menu, with an option for server admins to control which information is shared.

The beauty of the old Hyerlobby app was that it was so lightweight and fast to run. If you liked what you saw you could click on a server or a player and Hyperlobby could launch you into the correct game. Compare that to the slowness of launching the app, and having to authenticate to get at the server browser. Hyperlobby could run in like seconds and you would have all the information you need. i think Hyperlobby really was responsible for the massive popularly of multiplayer in IL-2 1946. Something as fast and easy to use would would be a really big benefit to the game.
