Would love it....

I really hope we won't always operate from improved runways in the game.

ROF has grass fields so I don't see why it should be a problem. One limitation is that the ROF Career AI will only takeoff using a single path at each airfield though.

this is would be absolutely deadly... for pilot, of course... sorry, but this not gives extra kph etc, although will be funny...

btw, mainly these photos from page about training centre "Саваслейка", where were trained and IAPs with different series of la-5, many fought in BOS...

for example, here 181 IAP with early la-5 with 2 DZ-40 for bombs, exactly photo with fab-50 and master-sergeant, looks like he mounts fuze... here, attention, exactly this new la-5 of 9-10 series from 5 GVIAP, which one of few IAPs had these planes in end'42 and early'43 in BOS, although, looks like plane have not all changes like adapter for smooth combination of cockpit and fuselage... other regiments from page with la-5 with 9-10 series and later, ie with all changes, if i'm not mistaken, for another fronts like Kalininskiy etc...

and, pls, look at photo with two ground crewmen and ammo belt, personally i clearly see in belt "1 - 1" ie looks like 1 BZ - 1 OZT or BZT - OZ, and this means that tracer-bullets were much more then now in game, right? ;):)

I don't think anyone expects making an airplane heavier and less aerodynamic will make it better, it just implies a fluidity to the operational environment.

of course, sorry me, i forgot about this -

;) and anyway, i sure on 99 percents, we dont get these skis and other winter stuff=funny sitting duck... and personally i prefer p-40 for early BOS, with historically correct rockets, or hurri with soviet weapon including bombs and rockets... etc... even early p-39/400...

We got sea planes in RoF.  Don't discount the possibility.  :)

I'd love it too.

I know I'm a dead meat anyways, but maybe they can credit me a maneuver kill if Luft pilot dies from laughter attack?

most likely, this is main thing what you can against planned german "UFOs"... :umnik2:

but, in fact, i not will abandon him too, it's part of history, winter gameplay and planeset...

Do those ski stuff (don't know how you call it in English) are retracting as normal wheels? Do they fit into wings holes?

personally i'm not expert in this question - try to read Massimo, he use russian sources and gives good information - just only know what were several types for yak-1, il-2, lagg etc, and best what you can get - pull skis up to wing and it's all, ie still some resistance and weight...

plus, look what some planes not have sliding part of canopy ( - 10 kph), racks for rockets and sometimes plus bomb racks... try to guess real performance of planes... :) and what they can...

i think only or mainly attack ground targets, in winter 41-42 luftwaffe had some problems and not fly sometimes, and it's why il-2 with any skis could fly and attacking targets succesfully, without opposing...

well, something like this...

Thee is a knuckle near the ski that rotates ~90 degrees outward so the ski lays flat-ish under the wing.

If we are not on a "runway" and flying from a frozen grass strip skis might help..

Um I didn't mean to offend you, I just didn't understand what you were trying to say. Please accept my apology. You speak  English better than I do Russian.

Google translate:

Хм, я не хотел тебя обидеть, я просто не понимаю, что вы пытались сказать. Пожалуйста, примите мои извинения. Вы говорите по-английски лучше, чем я по-русски.

Wow that google translate is not very good. I hope you understand what I said in English.

Every day I log in here, hoping to see something about the Airacobra being released in BoS.

ok... :drinks: and i clearly understood your posts, but not know exactly that you don't understand? i tried to describe types of soviet skis for planes, what they can do with performance of aircraft, etc... in fact no matter, it's just blablablah... :)

you know, i'm not will be surprised if model already in work by someone - joke, but half of true... :) - many want p-39 here, many want at our forum, plus =FB= loves p-39 and personally LOFT... result is predictable? in some sence... :), just which model for which "front", for example here 2 IAPs with much closest to BOS p-39s, but most likely it's p-400 or similar...

but looks like first, of course, some p-40s...

if not offtop only, but old stuff, here performance and even ammoload for captured by finland, lagg of 35 series...

The LaGG-3 skis were tested but never actually used.
