Wings of Liberty crew searching for a coder to fix server

Hey guys,

 

It has come to my attention that the guys hosting the Server Wings of Liberty need a coder that can do Django and Python in order to fix the server/script/whatever they use. The original coders seem to be gone.

 

Can anyone offer them assistance if possible, please? Maybe anyone from 1C ? That would be amazing as well.

Wings of Liberty Server will not be fixed, until they have found a programmer. Django / Python necessary. Even light skills might help! 

 

 

Can the developers of 1C maybe help a bit please? It was the most liked server for a long time and seems central to IL-2's MP community.

How come a programmer is needed?

Considering the editor dont need a programmer.
its all in there, just place objects,choose planes, set objectives and press save.

i could understand for complex servers like Finnish server maybe

It may be that they have some kind of script running on the server side. Maybe for stat tracking or inporting the mission briefs? I'm not really sure what the mission editor allows them to do on its own.

I dabble in Python but definitely not skilled enough for their needs, im more into machine learning anyways.

Maybe it's about updating the stats system. Looks like they're running Vaal's stats system version 1.2.9, whereas the current version is 1.2.14.

I prefer WOL to be broken tbh as that brings more people to try out other servers instead of the entire community clustering on a single server.

Knock it off with the dramatic "FAKE NEWS! TAKING MY FREEDUMS! DISGUSTING!" approach.

 

The fandom surrounding WOL is kind of like calling The Wall Pink Floyd's greatest work. Just because a lot of entry-level fans like it and some old guys hold out for it doesn't mean it exemplifies their best work.

 

In all actuality, WOL sucks and it would be great to see people branch out in to the other servers... That being said, nobody is trying to take WOL away from you and I hope they find their programmer. Feel better?

Look on the positive - it's keeping this thread well bumped.

 

I love WoL. It's always quite well populated during NZ evening times unlike almost all other servers at that time, in which one is lucky to fight with tumbleweed.

 

A coder would be appreciated.

only thing wrong with WoL is lack of bomber pilots in certain time zones
and lack of intelligent players in other certain timezones/countries

To be clear tho, I posted that video in jest, just having a laugh at this thread. Fenris_Wolf, Flitgun is right- they're just kidding around. No need to get upset 

 

Anyway, I PM'd Gagarin, no promises but we shall see if I can help at all. I'm not sure he's going to want some random guy from the other side of the globe logging into his server, however, which is likely what it would take for me to help at all, so don't hold your breath unfortunately.

My so called "hate" is more criticism than anything. I pretty much only play WoL usually since I just get on for a few sorties at a time, and just want some quick gameplay.

You can disable an enemy's prop by hitting it with your mirror causing no damage to your aircraft duh... I should test if that's possible. Will report back.

I'm in the exact same boat along with pretty much everyone I fly with.

 

TAW is hit or miss when I am online to fly....mostly misses.

 

Naturally though...WoL is fun when you want to mess around with your drinking flying buddies 

 

And I forgot to say, I hate to see any popular server down.  WoL included.  Hope you find what you need ASAP.

I think some of you guys have been a bit Harsh. The guy posted on OUR Forum , asking for help.... WOL is not a Server I like but Lads, A lot of us started Flying Online with GPS, Icons etc enabled...

I don't want to see ANY BOS Server in trouble.

I also agree, WOL is fine and I hope in the long run there will be more intermediate servers for players who dont wish to go full hardcore all the time.
