4ADCocteau Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I have been messing with this stupid GUI for months. commands that use multiple keys are not happening E.G. Flaps Up Left Shift + F. everything seems top be in order. I was thinking it was the target configuration options that needed to be messed with but the GUI software would not let me change any settings on that. The command Works fine if I do them on the keyboard but not the Joystick. If I run the configuration and event Tester it shows that the event is happening as per example above. LSHift and F and if I release the button it shows the release function as well (using The hold function on the editor command). but its not happening within the game.
Sokol1 Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) There's no much reason for use this "elephant" TARGET running in game background to make "joystick buttons press keyboard keys to press commands in games" - instead this buttons press commands direct in game, unless you want do custom profiles for individual planes... But is your choice. Anyway, when using TARGET (or any other keymapper) for solve this issue you need add pause/delay between LShift and F key, or this game will see only the F. dburne Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) There's no much reason for use this "elephant" TARGET running in game background to make "joystick buttons press keyboard keys to press commands in games" - instead this buttons press commands direct in game, unless you want do custom profiles for individual planes... But is your choice. There is plenty of good reasons to use TARGET for BoS. One can do so much more with it, especially in the BoX series. Unfortunately there is currently no way one can assign a shift or modifier button on their stick in the game controller setup menu. Certainly can do that in TARGET. Plus as you mentioned having individual profiles per aircraft, which currently cannot do within the game, Having said that I have tried getting away from TARGET, first in another sim that I can do the above, and then when I started flying BoX again I set up my controller in the game instead. But I am really missing the above abilities and may go back to using TARGET for this one. To the OP, I got around the issue you mentioned by doing as SOKOL mentioned, have to give a short delay between the two button presses or the game won't recognize them. I used the TARGET script editor to do this. Edited July 8, 2017 by dburne
4ADCocteau Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 has anyone been succsesful at using the target gui with this game? How would you go about setting the delay. there is one play where a delay can be added but I tried thta and does nothing if this sort. that functions delays the activation of all the keys. I anyopjne has been able to make it work can I have a porofile to see how its done or atleast the instructions on how to. thanks Guys
4ADCocteau Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 ok Guys I want to thank you both for the info. following what sokol1 said about the delay I tried creating a sequence within the flap sequence. the primary was Lshift only the generated the sequence and put F only. both of the hold functions. well it works Finally works. If Thanks Againyou are interested I will let you know how it goes and if you are interested I will share the profile. 1

I'd be interested in seeing what you did...the Flaps Up command continues to trouble me, despite using a delay between the Shift and the F keypress. The only way I got consistent results was to switch to a DirectX mapping.
Bilbosmeggins Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 I know it's less than ideal, but you could always use Voice Attack for the commands that need 2 keys, until a proper solution can be had.
Hoss Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) I can tell you I had the same problem with the CH Hotas set up I had too, the Flaps problem, Shift F always just come out F in game but in Control Manager Key mapper you would always see SHF F... F SHF.. the same in TARGET too, I have the same problem with Autopilot A and Level Autopilot SHF A, and Speed Flaps............ and Bombs... B and SHF B.......... so I just deleted commands not used in game and used those, such as F and X for flaps, I deleted the X from Rudder or which ever command is was before. I've tried slowing down the character generation rate (number of times sent per sec) and Pulse event time, (how long each pulse lasts) all to no avail. So I don't think there is much else we can do no matter which HOTAS system we have, I guess you could use joy presses, but I have found just deleting commands that are not used has worked the best for me. Just write it down somewhere if you have to reload your game. There is no pause between keystrokes, there is only "HOLD"... HOLD Shift + b which the game just see as a capitol B............ ALA13_Yren Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Here you've got solution for programming SHF, CTL or ALT combinations: Only works in advaced mode profiles. I'm using LSHF+S for decreasing oil radiator: STEP 1 Programming SHF-key press. Important delay 50ms and Typre Press. STEP 2 Programming s-key press. Important delay 50ms and Typre Press. Now depressing keys, first s-key and then SHF-key STEP 3 Important delay 50ms and Type Release STEP 4 Important delay 50ms and Type Release
Hoss Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I might try that at one point, for flaps the Shift F i just deleted the command in game for Rudder left "X" and used it for Flaps up and F for Flaps down. There are many commands we do not use because we use joysticks, that can be deleted from the game and used for other things. Just need to assign it it game once it's on the Target profile. i have the stick axis programed to act like the FW190 tail wheel lock, works for any plane you need to use lock/unlock tail wheel. just pull back the stick to lock release to unlock. Can't do that without TARGET................. Cheers Hoss
