vladimusmaximus Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Having some trouble getting it setup properly. Lots of buttons not recognized properly. Do I literally need to use Target to map most buttons to some type of keyboard function?
SYN_Mike77 Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I have a T16000. I have never used Target and have all buttons set. Make sure you hit apply in the bottom left corner of the keymapping page for each section as you complete it. For example if you are in Engine settings and you have selected all of your keys as you like, you then have to hit apply in the bottom left corner to bind those keys. It's a double select sort of thing that many (including myself) have forgotten that last step.
Thad Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Salutations, I concur with SYN_Mike77. Target is not needed and everything can be mapped.
sergio_ Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I have a T16000M AND the companiont TWCS. In this case, some of the buttons overlap, meaning I press a button in the joystick and it's like pressing some button in the TWCS. So I need to use TARGET to separate their functions. Once you get to it, TARGET is not that bad, and it can give you extra buttons: if I remember well, the set of base buttons in the T16000M on the left do the same as their symmetrical buttons on the right. With TARGET you can make each button be different, which will almost double your available buttons. But I agree with the above. You shouldn't *need* TARGET at all.
Mikey Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 I've used t16000 for years and I've never needed to use target 1
Sokol1 Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) Lots of buttons not recognized properly. What you mean with "buttons not recognized properly"? You mean automatically recognized when you plug the joystick? If is, in this game don't work in this way, you need go in Option > Key Mapping, select a function, example: "Fire weapon group 1" - then press the joy button you want use for this, after hit OK for save. Take only few minutes to do this - if have a previous idea of what want for each button. Edited July 9, 2017 by Sokol1

Sokol1 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) if I remember well, the set of base buttons in the T16000M on the left do the same as their symmetrical buttons on the right. No, are individual buttons in each base side, T.16000M has 16 (individual) buttons = 12 on base (6 in each side) + 4 on top of grip (plus POV HAT), although the ones in base right side (or left if user are left-handed) has little practical use due placement. Are a switch under base for exchange the start of button enumeration from one side to other, for left-handed person. Edited July 10, 2017 by Sokol1
sergio_ Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Interesting, for some reason the buttons were the same for me, symmetrically placed, therefore I never understood what the switch really did... Only TARGET 'separated' the buttons for me, and I only discovered it when I bought the TWCS which also overlaps some controls by default (at least for me).
