=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) Just upgraded to the latest version of the NVIDIA drivers and flew two sorties online and started to notice very subtle frame drops every 6-7 seconds that I hadn't had previously. Initially I thought i was starting to have some tracking issues but a quick google came across this steam thread - https://steamcommunity.com/app/358040/discussions/0/1368380934287960527/ Downgrading back to the previous drivers has made things smooth as silk again. Posting in case it helps someone else. Edited July 8, 2017 by Tripwire
Wraithzlt Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Thanks for posting this Tripwire. I was noticing stuttering alot more this patch even though i was holding a steady 89fps in my Vive after installing latest nvidia drivers. I will do a rollback and see how it goes.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted July 10, 2017 Author Posted July 10, 2017 More reports of the same issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/6km6rc/has_anybody_had_problems_from_latest_nvidia_384/
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) I also upgraded to these drivers and had framedrops on the right eye only in the Rift as well, which seriously let to my right eye feeling weird, mushy and wet for 2 days now. I played 2-3h with the new drivers on Saturday, and avoided playing on Sunday evening, solely because of this driver induced eye condition. Whenever the drops happened, it felt as if I had blinked on the right eye when I hadn't, and it was so intense that I had to drop the HMD for a while, and my eye would be forced to really blink several times afterwards. The irritation is real. Be aware that this might even have a negative effect on your real life health. I am downgrading to 852.53 now and will then report back once I know more. TG-55Panthercules Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Has anybody tried the latest version drivers from last week (384.94) to see if they help? D/L'ing them now, but may not be able to try them till tomorrow.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 Looking at the steam thread someone stated NVIDIA posted a Hotfix as 384.80. I never tried it as the rollback worked for me. Might try 384.94 after I see some feedback.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 There are no mentions of the stutter in the Hotfix or the new driver release notes but that's nothing unusual.
AcesHigh Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Also having this issue on Rift, tried the latest non beta driver but issues also persisted, only affecting IL2, all other games running OK.
Herne Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 just checked and i was on 382.33, looks like i might have skipped a few updates. updating now to the latest driver 384.94. Will report back with my observations
Herne Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 latest nvidia drivers 394.94 seem ok from the few missions i tried on WoL in a PE-2 on a winter map
dburne Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 latest nvidia drivers 394.94 seem ok from the few missions i tried on WoL in a PE-2 on a winter map Actually they are 384.94 just for clarification.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 Some positive reports on reddit for 385.28 drivers as having this issue fixed on 1080ti cards https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/6u8txg/psa_nvidia_drivers_38528_are_ok_to_use/ I will probably try the new drivers in the next day or so.
