clouddancer Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Now my appetite has been wetted by the Spitfire can I have a Tempest, Hornet or MB 5, please.
Herne Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 slow down mate. Let these poor hard working miracle workers we call dev's finish the game that they have pre sold first, along with the aircraft included in BoK. 2
Warpig Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 The Tempest does sound awesome. Really the only other British aircraft I care about besides the Spit Mk. IX. But we still have to go through the releases of BoK, and BoP campaigns first. Then who knows where they'll go.
Jade_Monkey Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Good luck! This is not DCS, the planes need to make some sense with the theatre. I dont think they'll make them until after Midway.
ShamrockOneFive Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Don't get me started on the Tempest! That aircraft is my all time favourite. When the third party modeller made it ready for the original IL-2 I had a fantastic time with it! Ended up creating a major campaign release for M4T and put in many multiplayer hours in that aircraft. Having it reappear in this series would be another dream come true. Hopefully one day the devs will take us to the skies of Normandy and Western Europe so a Typhoon or Tempest would be reasonable options.
Rolling_Thunder Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 The beaufighter has always been a favorite of mine. Would love to see one in this franchise. A brutal looking aircraft especially with invasion stripes. 1
Finkeren Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Give me something to go with what we already have. IL-4, Tu-2, Su-2, IAR-80/81, Hurricane, I-153, Po-2. That would be a dream come true for me. 5
Danziger Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Give me something to go with what we already have. IL-4, Tu-2, Su-2, IAR-80/81, Hurricane, I-153, Po-2. That would be a dream come true for me. Yes an Eastern Front Aircraft Expansion Pack would be very weclome. 2
Rjel Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 There's no harm in asking for XYZ airplane. In my mind it shows enthusiasm. And I seriously doubt the development team is bothered by requests. If they even bother to read them. Love the Spitfire. Looking forward to a MkIX someday. After I get my P-51 please.
Lusekofte Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) I rather have a Typhoon, it was the most useful aircraft and did the real pounding over France. It´s pilots was very brave and many of them made the ultimate sacrifice. The wish for faster aircraft make me think, why does not people fly Falcon BMS or something? There are fast alternatives out there Give me something to go with what we already have. IL-4, Tu-2, Su-2, IAR-80/81, Hurricane, I-153, Po-2.That would be a dream come true for me. That plane list would actually even up a bit, making some fun on red side, if we get this I would be happy to give the HS 123 to Lufwaffe Edited July 7, 2017 by 216th_LuseKofte
Wulf Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 OMG, a Mk IX! Why would you want a Mk IX, or a Tempest, when you can have a Mk XIV and rule the world.
Warpig Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 OMG, a Mk IX! Why would you want a Mk IX, or a Tempest, when you can have a Mk XIV and rule the world. The Mk XIV is too good. Would not be fair or fun for the competition.
Wulf Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 The Mk XIV is too good. Would not be fair or fun for the competition. Hmmmm ... okay, fair point.
CanadaOne Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 According to the forum whining, the Hurricane should be next. I whiningly concur.
=EXPEND=CG_Justin Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 If we got an early model Typhoon...I would fly red.
Jade_Monkey Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Well, in that case, here is mine: Republic P-47 Thunderbolt I've always had a soft spot for CAS. 4
CanadaOne Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Well, in that case, here is mine: Republic P-47 Thunderbolt I've always had a soft spot for CAS. CAS? That's what IL2s are for. But a P-47 would be a helluva lot of fun. 1
ShamrockOneFive Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 The Mk XIV is too good. Would not be fair or fun for the competition. If the scenario was March/April 1945... The Spitfire XIV would be fair game IMHO. It'd be up against the FW190D-9 and Bf109K-4. I still want to see what that grudge match played out as. Plus the Spitfire would have the Tempest Mark V Series II as backup

I still want to see what that grudge match played out as. Plus the Spitfire would have the Tempest Mark V Series II as backup It does sound interesting on paper. But going by the short reading I did today, the Mk XIV held the speed, turn, and climb advantage over both the K-4 and D-9. The D-9's only advantage was that it could turn over and dive into a spiral to run away (not really an advantage if you ask me). From a gaming perspective, it's obvious what would happen in these arenas. The Spits would rein supreme, and the complaints and discouragement would ensue. It sounds fun at first, but realistically, it would fast get frustrating for the Germans. Only very few exceptional pilots might do well. As much as I also would like to try this match-up, the above is what the realist in me says will happen.

The devs should stop the development of allied planes at a certain date so the germans have an advantage with late war aircraft? Cant wait to fight a 262 with a mk5

Give them a Me-262 and up the ante I know I'm in the minority here but I found a good mix of early, mid and late war combat to be immensely satisfying and entertaining. The Spitfire XIV may have the advantage but it was also more tricky to handle and I'd love to see that represented. I also think that fighter versus fighter matchups are only part of the fun. There's a whole tactical ground war aspect with low level fighter-bombers and aircraft like the Arado Ar234 during this time period that are interesting too. I had A LOT of fun making and running these scenarios on the Battlefields servers for IL-2: 1946 and they were always popular. We never had trouble filling the ranks of Blue or Red.
BlitzPig_EL Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 How would having a Mk. XIV be any different from what is going on now on the other side of the coin? Currently the Luftwaffe hold all the good cards in the deck when it comes to fighters. Balance is bad, history is good. 3

The question is not whether the Spit Mk XIV is good for balance but whether it fits the theatre. 1
LuftManu Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Damm, a Netherlands scenario on the 45, late 44 would be awesome
RCAF-De_Havilland Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 GIVE THE THE MOSQUITO OR GIVE ME DEATH ahem, seriously though,i would literally die for a mosquito fb mkVI in bos quality flight modeling. 3

Mmaruda Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Well, the bestest plane of all time is already in the game: https://i.redd.it/he5n40bwwwex.png That said, I am sort of hyped for the Pacific theatre and the nimble Lan Evo A6M.
Livai Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 I see here many who already started to work on their favorite planes.
RCAF-De_Havilland Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Really? You'd "literally" end your life? That's some serious devotion. i aint !@#$%^& kidding around,Id die happy for a few hours of flight in a bos mossie. 1

Patrick Henry will be spinning in his grave. Flying the Mosquito in modded EAW way back when was some of the most enjoyable time I've spent simming.
