CIA_Yankee_ Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Salutations, I flew around with the Spit last night, and I have to say she is a wonder to behold... however, I was unable to make use of the gunsight controls. The mapped controls just do not work, and neither did they work when I mapped them to stick buttons (one of the hats on my HOTAS). Has anyone else experienced this problem? If they do work, what am I missing?!? Thank you.
No_85_Gramps Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 The keyboard commands work for me, except the reset Ralt+'. Haven't tried mapping to a controller yet. Maybe go into your key bindings to be sure they are set.

No_85_Gramps Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 No technochat, but the dials on the sight rotate.
CIA_Yankee_ Posted July 7, 2017 Author Posted July 7, 2017 No technochat, but the dials on the sight rotate. Yeah, didn't see any of that, and I looked. I'll need to rebind the controls and see if it helps.
Matt Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 You should also see the wingspan and distance settings in the techno chat.
No_85_Gramps Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) You should also see the wingspan and distance settings in the techno chat. I did not notice that, I'll have to check later. Got some errands to run. Okay, did a quick check, techno and tips both have to be on for that info to show up. Edited July 7, 2017 by Gramps
19//Moach Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) now, mind that, if I recall correctly - those are YARDS marked on the distance dial there, and feet for wingspan, so if you're going without technochat, you'll have some converting to do... I believe the historically correct thing to do is to ask Siri, she'll convert it for you -- though I think the russians were using Google at the time (my idea of "historically correct" is not limited to events exclusively in THIS alternative reality) in CloD, I'd just set it to "109" - by giving it one "click" past the minimum span (placing it on 32 feet, whereas a 109 has ~33) - then I'd spin the distance wheel to about 250yds... this intentional lack of precision is because there I don't use single point convergence, but rather have my guns meet in pairs with 20m intervals around a soft center at some 220m (or somewhere close) that gives it a relatively well spaced, yet reasonably concentrated "death zone" with a practical margin of error to allow for the fact that, most of what I shoot at isn't usually in the mood for sitting still and letting me do it convergence in aerial combat is a very optimistic concept here you only get a simpler "convergence distance" option, which is less finicky to deal with, (though I'm sure many would appreciate an "advanced mode" for that someday) but then it pays off to be as precise as possible in setting up your sights to match your guns for wingspans, my CloD trick was to have a post-it with enemy wingspans (in feet) stuck around my monitor - that would probably work just as well here... I would only set the distance before takeoff, and leave it there. the only sight adjustment you need to make in flight is to dial in a new size of enemy Edited July 7, 2017 by 19//Moach
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) your convergence is set in the GUI whatever you set it at aircraft setup page,. i.e. 160m convert that to yards for the gun sight. = 174 yrds. my gun sight dials are set up on my x52 throttle wheels axis. Oh? they can be mapped to axis? Hum, I'll have to see about that. Kinda helps that the spit has no radiator controls that fit on an axis.
