No601_Prangster Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 (edited) Thank you to the developers for updating the BOSEditor UI to the modern Windows 10 look. Much cleaner in my opinion. Edited July 6, 2017 by No601_Prangster 4
Gitano_Fraile Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Yes, it is spectacular Only need to be able to put different skins
LLv34_Temuri Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 I noticed this too, and my first thought was "Component update? Maybe the editor is more stable now". Let's hope it is
NETSCAPE Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Hmm was there a problem with the UI? I thought it was fine. Anyways, goin in for a good 6 hour day in the editor... hope everything works.
NETSCAPE Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Wow the performance is a lot better on missions loaded with stuff where typically i would get a slight lag/stutter when panning the camera or hopping locations on the map ect. I'm using a peasant FX8350.
JimTM Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 It still crashes whenever I try to run it. Check out the troubleshooting items on pg. 179-180 of the editor manual.
Gambit21 Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Hopefully it's more stable. It's been a totally frustrating crash fest lately. I can run it - but crashes when dragging on the map about 20% of the time.
unreasonable Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Check out the troubleshooting items on pg. 179-180 of the editor manual. I have done all of that - unfortunately none of the processes there - or a complete BoX reinstall - make any difference.
Habu Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Hopefully it's more stable. It's been a totally frustrating crash fest lately. I can run it - but crashes when dragging on the map about 20% of the time. Don't stop to save every minutes, or when you add a big part. And make version. I lost a version of a mission, because it crash when i save. I have to use a previous version, and remember the change i made. I had a crash that afternoon with the last public version. Unfortunately, that time i have no crashdump that i can submit to the dev. If you didn't do it, enable the crash report and post your crashreport.
Habu Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 Go in that directory : H:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data Then run : EnableErrorReporting.reg Reboot When you have a crash, then go in : H:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data then run : viewcrashdump.cmd The command send you where windows store the crashdump.
Jade_Monkey Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 It's barely any different, just slightly more modern but everything is in the same place and works the same way right?
NETSCAPE Posted July 8, 2017 Posted July 8, 2017 It's barely any different, just slightly more modern but everything is in the same place and works the same way right? As far as I can tell, yes. I have better performance within the editor I still do believe.
Habu Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 It's barely any different, just slightly more modern but everything is in the same place and works the same way right? Yes you're right.
No601_Prangster Posted July 9, 2017 Author Posted July 9, 2017 (edited) It's barely any different, just slightly more modern but everything is in the same place and works the same way right? Yes that's exactly what my original post said. It's a User Interface update. Edited July 9, 2017 by No601_Prangster
CCG_bexhausted Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Thanks Habu ! Enable Report was already activated (but i did'nt know !) and didn't know command view crash dump. then run : viewcrashdump.cmd So it's working fine and i have 3 crash dump. But another question (last one i hope ) : What is the exact thread to post error reports ? Is it in the post Technical Issues and Bug? i didn't find Mission Editor bug report ?
Habu Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Yes post it in the Technical issues and bug part. But post only the crash from the current version. If there is no post, create one.
CCG_bexhausted Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Ok ! I'll wait because crash comes from the older version.
