Spitfire engine control management

The set and forget settings are 2650 an boost 7 - It will run at that all day if you have enough fuel. You can squeeze a little more out of that once you get to altitude with the Merlin 46. The main thing is to keep an eye on your temperature gauge. I often push through to slightly higher settings when entering combat but haven't found any situations against German bombers or fighters up to the F-2 level (including higher ability levels) that need me to go beyond that.

What I need to do next really is to try some combat tests against G2s, G4s and the FW-190 A5s as those were the Spitfire's most common adversaries over the Kuban Bridgehead. I'll be amending the encounters around the Spitfires only base on my practice map to try that out.

Good to know.

I was pushing into 12-16lbs /2850 in fur-balls against the AI in turns and climbs.

F4's and G2's, random AI.

I'll back off and see how I do.

As ever, AI furballs are frustrating - they always know where you are and forces Icons to even things out.

I ended up going to 1 on 1 to start polishing my gunnery a bit and practice my spotting.
