novicebutdeadly Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 (edited) I thought I would see if the Spitfire would give my trusty old G2 a run for it's money, had some fun, but when I came in for my landing I couldn't quite work out why the plane wasn't responding to the rudder inputs.... only to realise that I my rudder wasn't moving... woops... (after updating a restart my PC, but failed to start and shut down the game a few times which somehow causes the magic fairies to make sure everything works...)As an aside, what are the pro's/cons of the Merlin 46 (at 1000m alt mainly) Edited July 6, 2017 by novicebutdeadly
Finkeren Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 As an aside, what are the pro's/cons of the Merlin 46 (at 1000m alt mainly) The Merlin 45 is tuned for maximum lox altitude performance, the 46 for high altitude. The 45 is generally slightly more powerful at most altitudes and allows you a greater climb rate. For combat below 7-8000m I'd say the 45 is better, but historically most Soviet Spit mk. Vs had the Merlin 46.
