Unable to run latest version because VCRUNTIME140dii is missing

Got a response from the devs to run the "Updates/17-07-05/Copies/runVC_redistx64exe " manually. However both this and the other file in the Copies folder are PACKED files and I cannot open them.

Would some one be so kind to post the "Copies" folder with both of its content opened so I can replace my "Copies" folder.

The "Packs" folder files are also PACKED and unable to be opened so a copy of that with open files may also be necessary.

I would be most grateful.

Had the exact same problem this morning.

Went to Microsoft and reinstalled C++ runtime and it fixed it immediately. Took about one minute.

Hope it works for you too.

From the page: "Download the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017. This is the latest supported Visual C++ redistributable package for Visual Studio 2017."

Click on link in the MS page and it will download the vc_redist.x64.exe which you can then run - if you are having pilotpierre's specific problem.

What am I chopped liver? I mentioned the C++ remedy first and not a word is said. Good thing I'm not the sensitive type.

Oh wait... I am.

Now I'm sad again. :(

CanadaOne - you are quite right, you were first to help, have a green arrow, better late than never.  But you may have misunderstood quite how non-intuitive some of these tech things are to us - ahem - idiots "normal people".  I had only very recently been guided through exactly this process by my tech-wallah to solve a fault following a recent PC upgrade - it took about an hour :) -  so I thought it was worth making your advice more explicit for anyone else unfamiliar with the jargon, and even then I had to clarify what to do.    TBH I am always very reluctant to give advice on tech issues as I am an idiot myself so I worry about getting it wrong and making things worse.

Please do not be sad - just make advice as clear and explicit as possible so that someone with no tech expertise can follow it and you will be loved and admired by thousands!

Thank you. And it was good of you to supply the link.

Now I'm happy again. :)
