Blooddawn1942 Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 I like a little bit of RPG expanding from the Campaign to the forum! Very nice how this threat evolves. So I´ll take the punishment and do what has to be done to beat the fascist beast into oblivion!
Blooddawn1942 Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 So I finished the campaign. It was really great and I absolutely loved the last mission!!!
dburne Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 (edited) Whew finally made it through Mission 11, it was a real challenge for sure. Those were some dang good 109 AI pilots i was up against I will say. What finally worked for me was to get up high and let my wingmen start the engagement to get those 109's scattered somewhat first, then I was able to successfully engage. And we all made it back to our home airfield as well! Guess I had some pretty good wingmen also. Still loving this campaign very much - only 4 more missions to go. Edited July 14, 2017 by dburne

Chomp Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 (edited) Howdy, really liking the campaign. Only up to part 6 so far as I'm very much a newb. and only just started fly expert difficulty. I find these campaign's with just the single plane used a great way to really get a good starting familiarity with particular plane. I hope there are more of these as time goes by. I will definitely be purchasing. I did do the Autumn 1, but on normal difficulty. I will do it again on expert after I finish this 1. Same with the SP campaign's. Anyway, one minor thing I found seems backwards. Maybe its not, like I mentioned still, new to IL2, but the bearings to way points (indicated red on map) seem 180 deg. out. Are they compass headings for each leg - way point to way point? Or are they deviation? Deviation doesn't seem to make sense either though. Its no big thing and no problem at all now I'm used to it, but did throw me off heading the wrong way to start with. Cheers. Edited July 15, 2017 by Chomp

Sometimes, when the waypoints to the target and the way back are close to each other (and the map is zoomed out), the compass headings are flipped. If you zoom in, they will be at their according place.
unreasonable Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 (edited) Chomp - the way point bearing issue is a bug to do with how the program places labels on the map. I noticed the same thing in the "Ivan's War". The correct label for your leg may be above the return leg, and visa versa. edit - beaten to it by dingsda by seconds Edited July 15, 2017 by unreasonable
Chomp Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Oh! OK, thanks dingsda & unreasonable. Will keep that in mind in from now on.
ShamrockOneFive Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 I'm just two missions in now and I'm absolutely loving this campaign. Black Six's campaigns are not only well written and historically based but also have a certain cinematic quality to them. I'm also loving how I'm visiting locations on the Stalingrad map that I just don't think I've been to before. Superb. Can't wait for the rest of the experience!

I just now completed Mission 12, and so far each one has been fantastic. Only three more to go for me, may space it out a little to give me more time lol.
senseispcc Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 (edited) Great campaign I finished it and shall play it again but in "Expert" mode this time. Second image is a little preview of the end of the campaign?! https://ibb.co/bSxSKahttps://ibb.co/hGiOsv Edited July 15, 2017 by senseispcc
JG4_dingsda Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Great campaign and very welcome (since I am limited to offline flying atm). One question, though: I was looking for the 25, but could not find it. Am I missing something?
Luger1969 Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Hi Dinga. Go to the skins tab and the default-game skins. Scroll down it should be the last 1.

Pollux Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Will this campaign be translated into French ? Like the 10-days Autumn !
1CGS BlackSix Posted July 17, 2017 Author 1CGS Posted July 17, 2017 Will this campaign be translated into French ? Perhaps if someone from the community can helps us to translate the texts into French. For example, Spanish localization was made by E69_Cananas and we're very grateful to him for this work.
Pollux Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 (edited) I'm a bit on top of it, the campaign "10 days of autumn" being released in several languages, I thought "Blazing Steppe" would be synonymous ... So I will have to wait for "may be" translated one day to be able to play. PS: Sorry for my english Google translat Edited July 18, 2017 by Pollux
ShamrockOneFive Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I'm about 5 missions in now and its just spectacular. What an experience! Really enjoying this!
alpenspion Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 an translaiton in german... thats very fine. Then i have the "real" Il-2 feeling...
dburne Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I only have 2 missions left to go. Kind of hate to see it coming near to the end. I have had a fantastic time with this one!
Toxin1 Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I'm about 5 missions in now and its just spectacular. What an experience! Really enjoying this! Same here and its really very good. Hats off to BlackSix
dburne Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 (edited) I just finished Mission #14. Wow what an incredible mission I had with this one. We got to the action point, and as soon as we did here came the 109's. I laid back and let my wingmen get the engagement started to at least spread them out a little, then I picked a lone 109 and began my engagement. Twisting and turning I managed to stay on his six, and laid the cannons into him to quickly take care of him. Then as soon as I banked to start looking for my next victim, blammo I am being peppered by bullets from behind. In my focus to get the one 109 another one had managed to sneak up on my six. I banked and yanked trying to shake him, but not before I took some spray and found my plane spewing out both black and white smoke. Uh oh, not good. Luckily at this point the remaining 109's were engaging my wingmen, so I was able to start home without worrying about one on my tail. Pouring out smoke like this, I started working the RPM and Rad's to try and take care of my engine to get me home. I honestly did not think it would. By the time I got to the last steerpoint my remaining wingmen had joined up with me - they had survived the engagement as well. Still babying the engine, I made it to my home airfield and successfully landed to a mission accomplished message with my one aerial victory. That was some tense moments there, I just knew my engine would crap out and would not make it back. Apparently I did the right things in working those engine controls to get my butt home. What a thrill this one was, sadly now only the last mission to go. I have had such a blast flying this one! Edited July 19, 2017 by dburne 1
BlueHeron Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Finished the campaign and loved it!! My heart sank in the last mission when I realized that.... well, you know. Well done!!
Albino Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Up to mission 5. Thoroughly enjoying so far! These scripted campaigns are improving the single player experience no end. New scenarios with and a sense of continuity make it vastly superior to the campaign generator. Please produce more campaigns so I can buy and enjoy! Regards Albino
Nocke Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Just finished an otherwise successful mission with my damaged engine dying close to the airfield. I ditched perhaps 500m from the landingstrip and was already afraid that some stupid mechanism would tell me the mission had failed, and that I would have to repeat it. But NO! Thanks! Thats just great! .. besides, of course, all the other nice things in this campaign ....
Theodore_Morgan Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 (edited) Hello everyone, i´m seriously thinking buying it. My only concern is performance. I have a i7-3770k (3.9 mhz) 16gb ram with a GTX 1070. Will i have stable 60 fps? I had fps problems with the old vanilla campaigns (gtx780) and i presume there will be lots of physics operated objects at same time on screen in this campaign. Edited July 22, 2017 by Swam-e

dburne Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 (edited) I just finished this campaign. That last mission was quite a treat! I loved the campaign BlackSix and certainly look forward to more in the future! Hopefully maybe a Spit campaign someday. I am sure I will be flying this one again as well. I'm not sure about a Spit campaign. It's a Collector plane and this will create a problem for those who will buy BOK standard edition without Spitfire. Although I'd very much like to do such campaign... Last week I started working on free campaign for BOK, most likely this time you'll have to fly as a wingman in the first missions. 1
